Ranks: Leader: A Clan Leader is charged with the responsibility to watch over and manage an entire Clan, maintaining discipline, order and protection. They are granted nine lives and a new name with the ending "star" in a ceremony where nine StarClan cats come to them in a dream at the Moonstone/Moonpool. Deputy The deputy is the second-in-command to the leader, and may be considered an apprentice to the art of leading the Clan. They serve in the Leaders place in the situation that the leader is injured and unable to fulfill their duties. To become a deputy, a cat must have trained at least one apprentice. Upon the Leader's death, they become the leader should StarClan grant them nine lives. Deputies may also retire and give up their place as deputy if they wish. Medicine Cat The Medicine Cat serves the Clan as both their spiritual leader as the healer, making them akin to the idea of a 'Medicine Doctor' in a tribal society. In addition to their responsibilities to their Clan, they have responsibility to one another and StarClan. They carry out their responsibilities to StarClan once every half moon, meeting together to discuss matters privately and share dreams with StarClan. As a Healer, they gather herbs and dispense them as an apothecary would. They handle diagnosis and treatment of both illness and injury for all the cats in the Clan. In their role as spiritual leader, they teach the code, interpret omen and prophecy, and generally serve the Clan as a conduit between the earthly cats and their ghostly counterparts. As a medicine cat, a cat is not allowed to have a mate or kits. Medicine Cat Apprentice This is the cat that is being trained to follow in the paw-steps of the Medicine Cat. They learn healing and spiritual lore from the Medicine Cat. Medicine Cat Apprentices remain apprentices even when fully trained so long as the current Medicine Cat is still practicing the arts. Frequently, a Medicine Cat Apprentice who has full training will be given an adult name (paw replaced with another ending) even though they are technically still an apprentice. At the time the old Medicine Cat either dies or steps down, the Medicine Cat Apprentice becomes a full Medicine Cat, somewhat like the leader/deputy relationship. Senior Warrior The upper level of Warriors. Though not exactly an official time of a Clans organization (so there is no ceremony or exact time that a cat becomes a senior), these warriors are the older, more experienced warriors in a Clan and handle most of the training of apprentices, leading patrols and handling other duties that require a cat of proved responsibility and maturity. Warrior A cat trained in the arts of fighting and hunting. Warriors make up the bulk of a Clan, and provide that Clan with the protection and food supply that keeps it safe and well fed. Typically, a cat is made a warrior at or over the age of 12 moons. Queen A Queen is a She-cat with or expecting kits. Their primary task during this time is the raising of their kits. Some queens stay in the nursery after they have kits, They are thought to do this because they feel they can help the nursing queens. Elder A retired warrior, deputy, or queen who is too old or not in suitable shape to continue with their duties. Apprentice An apprentice is a cat in training to become a Warrior. Their names end in the word 'paw' (IE: Tawnypaw, Bramblepaw, Firepaw). Most usually they are at or over the age of 6 moons. Kit A kit is a cat who has not been made an apprentice yet. Their names always end in 'kit' (IE: Redkit, Snowkit, Bluekit). Always under the age of six moons, unless something happens. As in no warriors to mentor the kit appear or the leaders aren't there for the apprentice ceremony. Credit goes to: http://warriors.wikia.com/wiki/Clan_Terminology Clans: (prey, caught by all Clans.)Frogs: Frogs are leathery gray-green or gray-brown amphibians with powerful hind legs and a small brown patch by each eye. They are two to three kitsteps (inches) long and covered in leathery skin. They do not walk, but jump in most circumstances. Frogs are found near ponds, pools and swamps. (Prey, caught by all Clans.)Toads: Toads are greenish-brown amphibians with thick legs and warty skin. They are three to five kitsteps (inches) long and possess a heavy rounded shape. Unlike frogs they will walk rather than jump. Toads favor damp woodland areas for their homes. Specie(s): Oak Toads. GatorClan: GatorClan cats are big and burly, quite a match for the average warrior. Personalities of these cats tend to come off as devious, greedy, obnoxious, and cocky. Rare is a cat met that doesn't flaunt his demeanor at the Gatherings and border skirmishes. Their territory is the more boggier part of the Everglades, and just littered with Alligators that are always ready to pounce. Watch your pawsteps, apprentices, for the gator's jaws that await to much on some nice, warm cat flesh. Unlike the others, their territory is full of risks. Not only do the felines face the constant danger of Alligators, the two-leg boats often buzz by the Twoleg Waterpath. The giant propellers on these speedboats threaten to crush any in their path. These cats are stealthy and rarely go out at night, for that is the predators' hunting time. Those who decide to go out on a moon-high walk face the dangers of being a late-night snack for a gator or a panther. GatorClan shares it's borders with PalmClan and GladeClan, often disputing with their neighbors due to GatorClan's tauntings. Prey:] Snapping Turtles: Ey, watch your paws! The pointed head of this large turtle has a nasty mouth! The turtle can snap its mouth on your paw and break it, so don't get close! You can see the mud that the turtle stirred up when he came up to breathe. Snapping turtles are good-sized turtles with these somewhat pointy spikes on their back and very thick, pointed heads. Very hard to catch and very rare. Please note that your cat can get a good bite from one of them, enough to be stuck in the medicine den for half a moon or so. Cats can attempt to drown them, by sitting on them. But if the turtle gets ahold of the cat's leg, the cat can bite it's neck and have the turtle bleed to death. Anyway, hard to catch. Even though Sporky found a whole debate on who would win. Cat VS Snapping Turtle. PalmClan: Newts Newts are amphibians with four equal-length legs (unlike frogs and toads) that possess a rudder-like tail for better swimming. They have leathery green or brown skin, sometimes with red markings. Some even have a frill that runs down the spine. They vary greatly in size, ranging from two to six kitsteps (inches). Newts favor swampy areas near ponds when making their homes. Specie(s):rough-skin newt Fish Scaly, slimy, darker-colored fish that swim throughout the waters. Note that the freshwater fish of the Everglades are more mud-colored, which makes them harder to spot. Keep your shadow off the water's surface and look for a movement beneath the muddy water, and then proceed to strike your paw out and scoop a fish out. Specie(s): Brown bullhead. LizardClan: LizardClan is what some call noble but others call (coughGatorClancough) soft. These cats are fiercely loyal to the Warrior Code and their leaders, and take in any cat in need. Loner or enemy, should they be in dire need, PalmClan will come to the rescue. GatorClan constantly throws sneers and insults at these cats, having a bitter rivalry against their neighbors since the oldest elder can remember. They reside on a long beach that seems to stretch on for hours, littered with palm trees that drop coconuts occasionally. The cats of this Clan attempt to break these open, but it is rare when a warrior manages to break one open to reach the sweet milk inside. Though the milk does go to the medicine den, sometimes the apprentices are allowed to have a bit of it. Wood Storks and White Ibis. Birds that are hunted with smaller prey. Leave a newt or something out on the bank, and wait for a bird to come and wade through the shallows for it, pounce on it and kill it. The white ibis is mostly white with some gray or black on the tips of its feathers. It has a curved beak and orange colored legs while Wood Storks are brown-white with a brown head and curved beak. GladeClan: Rabbits. Rabbits are compact, apprentice sized animals with long legs, oval shaped heads, and long ears. Their fur is typically brown with ruddy streaks, the underside of the animal normally being paler than the topside. Their fur is thick and soft, but not waterproof. Rabbits live in burrows they dig in soil that is soft enough. They prefer the mouths of these burrows to be located in areas with a lot of cover.
