Months, he'd been gone months, he wouldn't have agreed to help the Italian ministry if he knew it was going to take that long. It would be simple consultant work they said. More like another bloody mission they didn't have anybody good enough for, Warren thought irritably as he trudged his way up the steps of the castle and down the hall. He now sported a new scar along his left eyebrow. Any more and he'd look like a child's worst nightmare, though he was sure he did already. Looking at his watch he frowned and glanced around the hall. It was awfully quiet hopefully he wasn't too late already. Making his way to the great hall he grabbed the handle and with a deep breath opened it.
Finally the term was over, she was exhausted, new staff arriving left and right, halfway through the year and all. AND her own fiance completely disappearing, there went quidditch, flying class everything. NOT TO MENTION DETENTIONS!!! She let Ryan take over detentions, and holy MERLIN! He wanted to use his so called house elf to handle classes and detentions!
Sinking down into the seat in the center, she was SO glad that term was over. No sooner had she sat down that she saw the door to the Great Hall open. And who was it that entered? The one and only Warren Rodemiere. Mhmm, and he was going to think all was fine and dandy wasn't he... Her eyes narrowed as she watched him enter the hall, her mood wasn't the greatest and now he had appeared right at the end of term feast like all was well, ready to start the holidays??? PFFT!
Til now I always got by on my own. I never really cared until I met you. alone And now it chills me to the bone. How do I get you?
Still holding open the door, Warren looked around slowly and spotted Stefanie looking not pleased at the table. Figures. He took a step into the hall and let the door slam shut behind him. It seemed awfully quiet. Dead man walking sort of quiet. Was he about to go off to his execution? Would be fitting the bad guys couldn't get him so why not someone he cared about. HA! He looked around at all the students as he made his way up to the staff table keeping his expression stoic. That look told him that Becca had kept her word and not told Stef, or else she never found out. But he knew better. If anyone could keep tabs on him it would be Becca.
As he reached the table he swallowed and looked at her. Well here he was would she make a scene here though? "Hello." Yup a man of few words has become even fewer.
Hello??? That was all he could say after how many months? Her gaze held his, knowing full well everyone was now with their eyes on her and Warren. The place had become silent so much so you could hear a pin drop! START TALKING PEOPLE! Was what she wanted to shout, just to get their attention off Warren and her. Well that and she wanted to demand where he was but that might get a bit loud and definitely make a scene "Where have you been?" she asked pointedly staring him down. HAH, big mean auror in her grasp now.
She wasn't gonna make a scene not here. But he would know she was peeved! And if he didn't figure it out by her dead calmness in her face and voice she'd make sure he knew!

So very very quiet in here. He kept his eyes on her and her question alone was filled with so much anger had he been a boy he might have turned and ran away. But he was Warren he never backed down. Looking left then right at the students around him now staring at him with with their mouths open or whispering to the person next to him. He looked back at Stefanie and cleared his throat, "I'm afraid that is not up for discussion." Here. This was neither the time nor the place. He'd rather things be thrown at him when students weren't around thank you. "I do apologize for my tardiness. I had hoped to arrive before the feast took place." Yup. Today. Not any earlier and definitely not any later.
Alexsandra walked down to the feast alone. It was going to be very interesting considering she knew nobody yet. Still, she felt that she had to go and be a nice good staff member. She walked up to the staff table and sat down near one end, so far there were only two people there. The headmistress and some other guy she didn't know. "Hello Headmistress," she said politely greeting her employer. "Hello sir," she said to the other unnamed guy.
NOT up for discussion! Breath, just breath, well she'd see about that. She wasn't letting him off after him being gone for so many months, with not a word in all that time! Her eyes flickered off to each side again, her eyes still narrowed, daring anyone to step in and even speak up for Warren. Becca probably very well knew, and that was why never replied to her notes with anything more then pleasantries. "We'll discuss this later." she said firmly with a tone of yes I will hear everything about why you have been gone and no getting out of it.
Her face remained stoic as she faced the front still, her eyes remaining on Warren's face. She'd missed him, A LOT, but at the moment with everything being dropped on her, she was quite ready to blow. Not to mention what had happened during the time he was gone with the baby thing!!!

It was like the ultimate face off and one that he would win this time. He stood straight and watched as someone walked past him and sat down at the table. New staff, great...not. He brought his eyes back to Stefanie's and held her gaze. "We shall see." Well he'd tell her the parts she needed to know.
Moving around the table he nodded at the woman he didn't know and took his seat next to HIS FIANCEE. Yeah, she was still his fiancee, well at least he thought she was. "And its a pleasure to see you as well," he muttered grabbing a glass and a pitcher of water. Looking down the table at the new person he nodded, "I am Warren Rodemiere." Yup the prodigal Head of House, Quidditch and Flying professor had returned.
Looking up as Aleksandra came, she flashed her a smile. She wasn't going to be rude to anyone, even in her irritation with Warren, she could still be pleasant with everyone. Her eyes narrowed a bit at his next words though. We'll see hmmm. Yep we'll definitely see about that, she'd be finding out everything if she could help it anyway! Had he actually been searching for Alexa again, one last time before they got married? Well, if so she was fine with it, because honestly she'd want that out of his system.
Sitting back against the back of the seat, she glanced his way again now that she'd finally broken her gaze on his face. Folding her hands across her flat stomach, she just sat their waiting for the rest of the staff to appear.

Raising the glass to his lips he glanced at Stefanie and sighed before setting the glass back down and turned in his seat to face Stefanie fully. There was something off about her and it wasn't her temper at him he'd expected that. His eyes fell on her hands on her stomach and he swallowed. He'd been gone months she should be....but wasn't.... He stared at her hands before bringing his eyes up to meet hers. He placed his hand on top of hers and searched her eyes, "You're not...." Okay...NOW he felt like a jerk. "What happened?" he whispered. She could be mad at him all she wanted but this.... He brought his eyes down to his hand on hers. "I'm sorry," he whispered.
Her eyes met his as he placed his hand over hers "I don't know." she whispered back with a shake of her head "The tests must have been inaccurate, or I was and..." Dropping it she knew he'd know what she meant. "I wasn't feeling good back in February and thought it was just normal stuff, but maybe..." She'd been so excited about finally actually becoming a mom, it had taken a good while to get used to the concept and when she realized nothing was gonna come to be it had been unbelieveably hard.
"I even went to Mungo's to verify, I'm not pregnant." she said softly. She wasn't gonna cry, not here, not now. She'd definitely shed enough over it though. "There's nothing they could have done."

One of these days, Adam figured he was going to have to actually be on time to one of these feasts. Just to throw everyone off, as by now he figured they all expected him to have been occupied with something else so as to end up making an entrance. In any case, this was not that day, and he strode into the Great Hall knowing he was late. At least it wasn't due to Scotty getting out again, as that would have meant being even later. Although, as he glanced up at the staff table, he did a mental shrug. Maybe he was earlier than he expected. Either that or all the other staff members had forgotten that it was the end of term. That was entirely possible, especially considering it had seemed like the headmistress had been hiring all through term. He had just concerned himself with his own devices, as usual.
He was particularly interested in one figure who actually was there, opposite his seat as deputy headmaster. The prodigal auror returns... he thought wryly. He was fully aware of Warren's past, even though he'd been lucky enough to not actually ever have the true authorites after him. He was still unable to think of the man as just a fellow professor, though, and not in the least due to said disappearance. Nodding at the redhead sitting in the Ancient Runes position, giving her a grin as well, he kept walking toward the center of the table then dropped into his seat in a sprawl, i ntentionally listening in to the conversation at hand. "Stefanie, Warren," he said after a moment, raising an eyebrow rakishly as he inclined his head towards the two, then tilted it toward the things on the table. "Anything other than water yet?" It was end of term. He didn't have to attempt to put on the good role model face anymore, not that he was particularly good at it anyway.
