Sauntering into the room, Eric dropped into the chair in the back corner and pulled out his parchment, quill and ink. This was gonna be good. He waved at the house elf. They were always so nice to him.
Stifling a small yawn with her hand, Ashlyn walked into the classroom. What was up with all these early morning classes? Seriously, they had to stop. It was torture climbing out of her warm, cozy bed to sit in a cold, drafty classroom. "Morning, Professor," she mumbled as she walked past his desk, then gave the only other person in the room a non-chalant wave before sitting down. She knew he was the Head Boy, but his name escaped her.
Leaning back in her chair, the Slytherin looked up at the writing on the board then over at the little elf. House elves? Should be an easy-peasy lesson, she thought to herself. Good, she needed one of those.
Walking into History of Magic, the first thing Lexi saw was the house elf standing near the front of the room. The creature brought a smile to her face, and she nodded at him as she headed for a desk, before noticing the professor as well. "Good morning Professor Smith, Blinky," she said brightly. At least learning about house elves should be interesting, since usually she thought of the subject as kind of dry. Usually the only times she found history interesting was when it was concerning a subject she liked. And the likelihood of learning about Greek myths was slim.
And then she glanced around the rest of the room, as she set her school bag on the floor near her sneakered feet. Seemed like she was one of the first to arrive, although she smiled at the Head Boy and the Slytherin she remembered from Arithmancy. No need to be rude, after all, even if she held back from conversation right now.
Maybelle walked in knowing for sure she was going to be amazing in this class. She knew loads on the History of Magic, because well...her Mum is the Minister. She saw some familiar yellow and black robes and realized it was Eric. She skipped down and sat next to Eric. "Hello." She beamed at him, before noticing the House Elf and the Professor. "Good morning." She directed them to both of the people she was referring to.
Eric and Jessa He's the head boy, She's the Minister's daughter. Can you say "Perfect Couple"?

Groaning inwardly as he entered the class, JD really didn't care for this subject. If Divination was dull, he found this one even more so. Seriously, the history of magic? Wasn't learning about magic more the point, not learning how it came to be and all? His eyes were drawn to the little house elf standing in the front of the room.
His eyes moving to the board as he slunk towards the back of the room past the few students who'd already arrived. Spotting Eric next to Jessa he grinned slyly winking at his friend before taking a seat in the very back of the room.
After waving back to the Slytherin, Eric picked up his quill and played with the feather end. It always felt super soft and really awesome. He directed a small nod to the Gryffindor and then smiled as Jessa skipped into the class. "Hiya Jessa" he pulled out a hardback book of parchment from his bag and handed it over. "Just a book I thought you'd like to keep your work together..I use them all the time." he shrugged slightly, hoping she'd like it.
His head turned slightly though, following JD's progression through the room. Narrowing his eyes at JD's wink and sly grin, Eric threw a bit of paper at him. He was so smug sometimes! But he was going to taunt JD about Penny. Teehee.
Professor Smith stopped daydreaming as soon as Blinky spoke to him. "Thank you Blinky, I think you are right." He smiled before standing up. "Most of you will know by now that I am Professor Smith." He looked at the House Elf. "And this is Blinkey, can anyone tell me what an House Elf does?"
Jessa smiled at Eric. "Thanks, that's really nice of you." She gave him another smile. Taking the book of parchment, she put it gently in her bag. Then, she heard the Professor speak and her attention turned to him. "Sir, a House Elf is a servant to wizards." She began. "They do what their Masters tell them to do." She said, hoping she didn't sound mean. Her Mum had a few House Elves, and Jessa wasn't mean to them, so she didn't want to sound mean to Blinky.

Trying hard to keep from snorting as Eric threw a piece of paper at him, he shook his head. He also wondered if he'd finally noticed Jessa flirting or not. He'd definitely need to just talk to him. Hmmm, maybe when he wasn't out with Penny. Whenever that might be hehe.
Hearing the professor's question, he raised his hand, "The school elves jobs is te keep the fires going in the common rooms and prepare the food."
"No problem" he smiled at Jessa and nodded as her and JD answered the question. Looking at Blinky, he smiled again and flicked the end of his quill again. He was kinda bored. Meeeh.

"Correct take two points each." Professor Smith smiled, he was hoping they would enjoy the lesson when it got going a bit later on. "Can anyone tell me what happens if a House Elf betrays his master?"
A faint pop sounded as Calla appeared in the classroom "Blinky, I'm so..." Her eyes growing huge as she realized a class was in order. Blinky told her that the classroom had needed cleaning, immediately! He tricked her again!!! Diving under a desk she hid from everyone as best as she could. Sitting with her feet tucked under her cloth next to someone's shoes, she hadn't even thought of disapparating.
Points again, woop woop! Grinning as Calla appeared, Eric watched her and then gasped as she dived under his table. Moving slightly, he looked down at her "Hey, Calla?" he shifted to kneel so he could see her properly. "Come on up, we're learning about you all." he smiled, offering her a hand.
Blinky looked at Calla and smiled she had come, it had just ment he had to trick her to come but none the less she had come. "Calla come here the students need to take a look at you."
Her eyes still wide as she peered out between her fingers that were over her eyes. She looked up seeing the studentsie that she'd seen in the kitchens. Sniffing she didn't smell that icky smell. Taking his hand, she stood close to him at the table, her eyes just barely peeking out over it. "Yous a bad elf Blinky." she said softly. "You tricksed Calla."
A slight pop heralded her arrival. She landed on top of a desk executing a small spin in her small flowy dress. She was humming a tune slightly off key and doing a jog along with it. Music was one of the indulgences she got to enjoy as a worker in the castle. Not all House elves were so lucky.
Dotty opened her large green eyes and stopped mid boogie. A class? Her cheeks turned red and her ears drooped. "I sorry Professor." She squeaked. Her eyes spied Calla and then Blinky. "Blinky said this classroom needed cleaning." Dotty turned around and looked at the two students sitting at the table she had been dancing on. There was a red head (Penny) and a blonde boy (JD).
Looking down she realized she had stepped all over their papers. Slowly she sat down on the desk. "Sorrys." She squeaked.
Professor Smith smiled he was glad that the house elves where here but he wished that sometimes they would just use the door like everyone else. "Why don't you three House Elves tell the class of your own personal background." He smiled at them, surely they wouldn't object to that.
Smiling as Calla came out, Eric nodded to her, but then watched her telling off Blinky. But then something ELSE happened! He turned slightly to see Dotty on a table. Holding back a laugh, he pressed his lips together and watched what was going on. When the professor asked the elves to explain their backgrounds, Eric's eyes widened a bit more. But he was interested now.

His eyes widening as one of the house elves appeared on top of his book dancing, he grabbed his book before it fell off the table. "Nice entrance, miss." he said with a laugh. Moving the book over so she wouldn't sit on it, he looked at the three elves standing and sitting there. He'd always been curious about them, and didn't know much other then them helping witches and wizards in their homes and here at the school.
He also hadn't missed Calla's sniff and look toward him.
A squeak came out as the professor asked them to tell of themselves. "I'm Calla." She said softly her eyes dropping and looking at the floor. Why did they want to know about her????? "I's a good house elf. I do what master says I should do." Rubbing her foot into the floor, she saw a smudge by the desk. Bending down she rubbed it with her tea towel.
That was her background...right? She said what she did, and that she did what she was told. That's what they wanted to know right? That she didn't disobey and wasn't naughty?
