You walk in and see many things. To some, they might look strange. You see a rope, with plastic handles on each end. You see a box on its end that reads the name, with a board in front of it, and colorful game pieces. You see a small device, buttons upon it, and a screen, with a song title on it. Lastly, there is one final electronic device. It has buttons with letters on the bottom, and a screen on the top.
Lemur sits at her desk and awaits the kids to arrive.
Gemini thought this would be an easy class; she had grown up as a muggle after all. She walked slowly into the classroom and looked around. Judging from this room, you wouldn't know this was a wizarding school at all. It looked like the bedroom of a muggle child. Gem could see a few of the toys she had played with as a child. She looked around with large eyes and caught sight of the professor. "Good morning," she said shyly.
Jessa walked into the classroom. She was told by her Mom to take this class, so she knew how the muggle's worked. She saw strange looking things. What were they? She thought. Scanning the classroom, she found Gem, "Hey, Gem." She said, smiling. Then she caught eye of the Professor. "Good morning, Professor." She said, taking a seat, trying to figure out what those things were.
Eric and Jessa He's the head boy, She's the Minister's daughter. Can you say "Perfect Couple"?
A foot appeared at the bottom of the door, then a head and a body followed. Peeking to see who was in the room, Eric grinned and walked into the room interestedly. "Morning Professor!" He greeted her brightly and walked around, looking at all the objects. This was his 6th year of this class and he knew some of these things. MHMM. "Oh, hey!" he greeted two Hufflepuffs.
Alexis looked at all her students, surprisingly, all were Hufflepuff's, hmm, where were kids from her house? "Good morning all." She said, smiling at the children. "I am Professor Lemur, and I will be teaching you what sort of things muggle's do in their everyday lives." She explained. "We will be starting in about ten minutes, so just chat amongst yourselves until class begins." Alexis said, hoping there would be some Ravenclaw's to come.
Jessa jumped slightly. "Oh, hey Eric." She said, smiling. She liked how he was in the same class as she was. Jess nodded at the Professor. "I am so excited." She said, learning about what muggles do everyday. They probably don't apparate or anything! "Eric, do you by any chance know what those things are?" She whispered. Why would she know? She was Pureblood.

Seriously why had he decided to take this class this term? The last class with Professor Zookara had ended up being just a joke for him. There was things he could have taught the man, shaking his head he slid into the room and made his way to the back. Hopefully this class, he'd not have that laughing fit he'd had at the last Muggle Studies class he'd attended.
Gemini smiled shyly in the direction of the older, and much taller, Hufflepuff boy. "Hi Jessabelle," she said with a small smile. She followed her to a desk and sat down next to her. "I know what they are," she said. But there was no way she was sharing her information. She liked knowing more than someone older than her, and this was probably the only class where she could enjoy that knowledge.
"Mkay" Eric nodded to the professor, happy to chat. "Sorry, I made you jump again." Eric smiled apologetically and then nodded. "Good, Muggle Studies is good fun most of the time." he grinned before frowning slightly as she asked what they were. Trying to remember, he hovered his hand over one of them and turned back "I've got a vague idea, but I'm not sure." he shrugged. But his attention was caught by JD sneaking to the back of the class. "Jaaaaaay Deeeeeee" he called to his Ravenclaw friend and indicated for him to come over. Nodding kindly to the other Hufflepuff as he waited for JD, Eric smiled warmly.
Lexi couldn't really say exactly why she'd decided to come to Muggle Studies. It wasn't exactly like she knew that much about Muggles, other than what she'd learned in the previous three terms here at Hogwarts. Either way, she knew her parents wanted her to take as many subjects as she could handle, and there really wasn't anything wrong with Muggle Studies. Even if sometimes she wondered if they could discuss Muggle mythology and that sort of thing. She'd like that. Of coruse, that was probably one Muggle-ish subject she actually did have an interest in, after all.
Either way, here she was, heading for a desk near the middle of the classroom and feeling like she stood out. The lone Gryffindor amongst a sea of Hufflepuffs. Well, and one Ravenclaw. It was a good thing she didn't actually have a real bias regarding Houses, or things could get really awkward.
Jessa smiled at Gem, "How was your day so far?" She asked, with a smile. She laughed at Eric. "It's okay, just this once." She nudged him. She saw JD and smiled at him. Then, this girl who wore Gryffindor colors walked through the door. Hmm, at least there were no Slytherins. She looked at Gem, eyes wide. "How do you know what those things are?" She asked, completely shocked. She turned back to Eric. "Well, I don't know what any of them are." Jessa said, she was Pureblood, after all.

Alexis looked at the two new faces that came through the door. She smiled kindly at them, and decided class would start. "Okay kids, take a seat." She said. She walked to the front of the room, and wrote her name on the chalkboard. "I am Alexis Lemur, your Muggle Studies Professor, and Ravenclaw Head of House." She smiled at the Ravenclaw who entered. "Now, can any of you tell me what these items are, and what they have to do with muggles?"
Gem smiled shyly at Jessabelle, she was glad that she was a nice person. "Good, but quiet. I was in the library for a while, reading." She liked to read, and she didn't want to be around a lot of people, because she was too shy. "How don't you know what they are?" She asked, looking at Jessabelle like she was crazy. "They're toys kids play with everyday."
When the Professor started the lesson Gem flicked her eyes to the front and stopped talking so she could pay attention. Wait, the Professor's name was Lemur? Why? She liked Lemur's, they were her favorite animal, but it was a weird name for a person. She looked around to see if anyone else was going to answer, because she did not like talking in front of people. Neither Jessabelle nor Eric knew, so she wondered if anyone else but her knew. Wizards were weird. Slowly, she raised her hand, and she spoke softly. "They're toys," she said shyly. "Muggles play with them, usually the children. That is a jump rope," she said, pointing to each thing as she said what it was. "That is a board game, that is a computer, and that is a....video game?" She wasn't quite sure, because she hadn't played with any of those.

Sniggering under his breath he watched Eric and Jessabelle. Was he really not catching on? JD had tried to catch his attention, but that hadn't worked all that well. Erghhh, was he really being asked to sit closer? Shooting a look at Eric as if to say NOOOOooooo. He sighed and stood up moving his bag over closer.
Looking up as the professor began to speak, he sat back with his arms crossed, listening but he wasn't about to give away any answers to his classmates. They needed to learn this a lot more then he who had lived with those items for years.
Nodding to the Gryffindor who entered the room too, Eric beamed. His first lesson as head boy. WOOHOO! Bowing playfully at Jessa, he grinned "Thank you, very kind of you." His eyes followed hers to JD and then turned back to her as she said she knew none of them "I've had Muggle Studies lessons before." he nodded. "But these were only mentioned, not shown." When Gem said it was a video game, Eric tilted his head "I thought it was an, umm, music player?" he looked at the professor unsurely as he lounged on his chair.
Then he turned slightly to JD and nodded at him. Making a face, he shrugged and quickly scribbled onto a piece of parchment. Passing it to him, he smirked.
Alexis nodded at Gemini. "Very good, four points." She said smiling happily. She also nodded at Eric, "Yes that is correct, one point." She said. She looked at Jessabelle's confusion, and Gemini's disbelief. "Sometimes, Ms. lazar," She began. "Kids aren't raised in the muggle world. Those who are Pureblood probably have lived around wizards and witches their whole lives, like Ms. Leroy." She said, smiling at the Minister's daughter. "But you and Eric have done very well with naming what the objects are and what the do in the muggle world. Now, who can tell me what kids usually play with these toys in the muggle world? I am looking for an age range, and the restrictions on some of them." She looked out and saw Eric passing a note. "Now, Mr. Bailey, note passing is against the rules in class, and I'm sure you know that, seeing as you are Head Boy." Alexis said, staring him down.
Jessa laughed and pushed Eric playfully. "you don't need to treat me like I'm royalty yet, Eric." She said teasingly. Her mouth gaped open at Gem's knowledge. Hmm, looks like she found her new Muggle Studies cheating study partner. "I've never had this class, and well, I'm Pureblood. Never been to the muggle world. Guess it just seemed interesting." She told both Gem and Eric, because they knew more than she did. Hesitantly she raised her hand. "Don't little kids play with the jump rope?" She asked, uncertain if she was even close to right.
Eric and Jessa He's the head boy, She's the Minister's daughter. Can you say "Perfect Couple"?
Confusion clearly showed on Gemini's face. "What is a pureblood?" Jessabelle was a Pureblood, but that didn't really help. Pureblood could mean a nice person, but why wouldn't nice people play with those toys? She was a nice person!
Gem raised her hand again, because it seemed like the other people where the whatchamacallit; purebloods, and they didn't know. The older hufflepuff had known the one though, so he might not be one of them purebloods. "The jump rope and board game are used by children of all ages, but the other two are generally used by kids a little older than me. The computer can be used by younger kids, but older kids use it more often."
"Yet?" he laughed and shook his head amusedly. Grinning as he got a point, Eric glanced at Gemini and gave her a thumbs up. Brilliant! 5 points for 'puff's already! Beaming when the professor said they'd done well, he sat up a little straighter in his seat before he heard the professor reprimanding him. Staring straight back at her, he nodded and looked down, making the cutest face he could "I'm sorry, Professor." he sounded sincere. But then he turned his head slightly, looking at Jessa astoundedly. She'd answered something, it seemed, correctly! Nodding to her, indicating he thought she was right, he smiled.
"A pureblood is someone who hasn't got muggle parents or grandparents. A 'pure' witch or wizard." He explained to Gemini as best he could.

Slipping the parchment closer so he could read it, JD turned and went pfft in Eric's direction. Writing below it,
parchment
Got the vinegar off, then?
Wouldn't you like to know?
Looking up as the professor reprimanded Eric, he smirked and put it on the edge of his own desk closest to Eric's so he could at least read it. His eyes still on the professor, "It's mainly for kids ages approximately 8-13." Forcing himself not to roll his eyes, he felt he'd done his deed, by giving a hint to the other students in the class.
Alexis looked at her students. They were all so smart! Even the Minister's daughter got one right! "Very good, Ms. Leroy, one point." She said proudly, she liked having the Minister's daughter in her class. Alexis looked at Gem. "Exactly what Mr. Bailey said, a Pureblood is a way to know what status you are. If you are a Pureblood, everyone in your family is most likely full wizard, meaning they have no human trace in them." She explained. "If you stay after, Ms. Lazar, I will explain the rest in my office. And two points, very well, Ms. Lazar." Alexis said. She gave Eric a look that said, 'be careful.' She nodded at JD. "Very good Mr. Stevenson. That is exactly what I was looking for. Four points!" She said, proud of her house. "Now, who can tell me why adults did not play with these items?" She asked, because clearly, for some, they did.
A small smile appeared on Eric's face as he read the reply slyly. Looking at the Professor with his most innocent expression, Eric smiled and then stared at JD. He'd got points?! Whoooooa. Deciding to get MORE points, Eric chimed in again. "Because they're seen as 'childish' toys?" he replied "Meaning if an adult played with them, they'd be seen as childish and silly." Riiiiight?
Alexis looked at the Head Boy of Hufflepuff. "Well, yes and no." She said, "Some adults do play with a few of these items. But, very good guess anyways, one point. Now, can someone tell me which items are played more with children and which ones are played more with adults? And why this happens?" She looked out at her class, hoping to get some response.
Smiling as he got another point, Eric shifted in his chair. "I guess the jump rope is for little kids, and the board game is for those a bit older. It has rules and little kids don't really understand rules. but the other two are generally used by kids a little older than me. The computer can be used by younger kids, but older kids use it more often." he frowned. "The computer is used by kids, ages 5+ because teaching material can be put on them and they're simple to use?" he tilted his head, hoping he was getting it right. "And the music player is used by teenagers and adults whilst travelling?"
Jessabelle had no clue what Professor Lemur was talking about. She was Pureblood. Why would she know these answers? Raising her hand she said, "Don't adults use the computer for work stuff?" She said, pronouncing it more like 'cumepooterr' but, oh well. She had heard her mom talking about muggles before, and what they do when they work. She looked at Eric for assurance. She did not know the answers to those questions.
