Our common room is round, earthy and low-ceilinged; it always feels sunny, and its circular windows have a view of rippling grass and dandelions.
There is a lot of burnished copper about the place, and many plants, which either hang from the ceiling or sit on the windowsills. The Head of Herbology brings the most interesting specimens (some of which dance and talk) to decorate our room – one reason why Hufflepuffs are often very good at Herbology. Our overstuffed sofas and chairs are upholstered in yellow and black, and our dormitories are reached through round doors in the walls of the common room.
Jessa smiled. He was complimenting her. "Well, you won't have to, if no one makes me extremely mad." She laughed. Then, her smile and perky attitude suddenly vanished. "Think about what?" She said, if he said the wrong thing, she would for surely cry. So, hopefully Eric wouldn't make Jessa cry, because she would never forgive him.
Eric and Jessa He's the head boy, She's the Minister's daughter. Can you say "Perfect Couple"?
Smiling back at her, he nodded "Well, you seem kinda chilled, so i'm sure it's hard to make you mad." he watched her laughing. There was something about her. He liked it. But as her face fell, he shifted uncomfortably. "Exactly how I feel." he looked at her. "I like you..I really like you. It's just that my head's all over the place.." his hand twitched slightly as he silently debated whether to hold her hand or not. Just diving in head first, he reached over to her hand and held it gently. "I REALLY like you."
Jessa smiled at Eric. "Well, let's not try to make me mad." She nudged him. Then, she stopped laughing. He liked her? Like liked her! She looked down at her hand, which Eric's hand was in. She moved it so her's were laced through his. She smiled, and couldn't help a little blush.

"Good idea." he nodded at her, laughing too. But then he stopped when she did. Heh. Now it was his turn to be scared. Watching her nervously as she looked at their hands, he waited for her to freak out and run off or something. But she didn't. Smiling and squeezing her hand gently, he looked up at her face and smiled at her blush. He didn't know what to say or do, so he just sat there, holding hands with her. WHOA. Did this mean he had a g i r l f r i e n d ? This was sooooo wierd!
Jessa smiled and moved closer to Eric. they were holding hands. So, they were dating then? She wanted to know, and Eric probably did too. "So," She started. "Does this mean we're dating?" She asked. Jessabelle definitely wanted to be, and Eric hopefully wanted to be too. So asking wasn't stupid.

As she moved closer, he smiled at her and squeezed her hand again. He just wanted to make sure he wasn't dreaming. Well, he knew he wasn't. When she asked if they were dating, he guessed so, since they'd both confessed to liking each other and were now holding hands. "Yeah," he replied, looking at her. "If you want to be." He was just making sure again.
Teehee. Jessabelle had smiled. They were totally dating. "Yes, yes. I would like that." She said, a small blush coming back. Her dream was coming true. She smiled as he squeezed her hand, she couldn't help but smile now. She was so happy! Who wouldn't be happy if they were dating someone? Weird people, that's who.

"Good," he smiled a her again and breathed out slowly, relievedly. He'd never done this before, so it had been his first time. It'd gone well, right? "So..I guess..we could go to Hogsmeade this weekend?" he looked at her, waiting for a response.
Jessa only had to nod. "Hogsmeade sounds good." She smiled. She tried not to let the fact that he was three years older than her and would be leaving in two years while she would only be in her fifth year. Nope, not going to let that get to her. She was happy. "Hopefully we won't run into my Mum." She said, laughing. Her Mom liked going to Hogsmeade, it was her favorite place to meet up with friends, like students at Hogwart's do.

"Good" he grinned at her and then frowned "Why? I'd love to meet your mum. She sounds interesting." he smiled at her again, hoping he DID run into her mum. It'd be nice if it was unexpected rather than weeks of nerves building up to meeting her. Heh. He was usually chilled, but he just couldn't get over meeting someone as important as the Minister easily.
Jessa had looked at Eric, an eyebrow arched. "My Mum's on the crazy side." She said shrugging, and smiled. "You just want to meet her 'cause she's the Minister." She nudged him. Her eyes flicked to the fire. "Nice, isn't it?" She asked. "All of this? The fire, us. All very...romantic." She said giggling at herself. She was so silly sometimes.

"Oh, really?" he laughed "Definitely wanna meet her then" he grinned at her and then shrugged "I'd still wanna meet her if she wasn't. She's my girlfriend's mum. Isn't that a good enough reason?" he looked at her, smiling. "Mhmm. And warm." he nodded and stared at the fire. He knew the way to ruin anything, didn't he?
Jessa shook her head. "No, you really don't." She said. "My Mum is the Minister! You say the wrong thing and she will go all crazy Mum and arrest you, or something absurd!" She exclaimed. She smiled, and shook her head playfully. "You know, sometimes I thought you were a dork, this just proves that I was right." She nudged him. She lied her head on his shoulder. Hopefully, it wouldn't be too awkward for him, because this was obviously awkward for him.

He looked at her confusedly before laughing "She ever done it to you?" he grinned, shaking his head. Surely being a mum came before being a Minister. Smiling the whole time, he looked back into the fire and then gasped playfully. "I'm not a dork!" he nudged her this time and smiled as she laid her head on his shoulder. Putting his arm around her, he wondered if she was a good quidditch player. Hmmm.
Jessa stuck her tongue out at him. "No, I meant when it came to boys, I have an older sister, and she brought her boyfriend over...let's just say when he said that she was pregnant, people had to hold my Mum back just so he wouldn't be thrown in jail...and my sister was 20 at the time!" She said, looking at Eric. She smiled at Eric's nudge. "Are too!" She said, laughing. Jessa yawned, hoping Eric wouldn't notice. She didn't want to leave that spot. Not ever ever ever!

"Oh, really?!" he stared at Jessa. "So..umm..she won't like me that much then, huh?" he looked at her, his eyes widening. He really didn't want to be not liked by her mum. So he'd have to have a peace offering when he met her. Good idea. Good first impressions weren't something you could have again. "Am noot!" he shook his head, smiling. Noticing her yawn, he yawned too and poked her playfully. "Hey, you made me yawn." he accused her. "Think you'd better go to bed?" he nodded to the girl's dorm.
"Well, I never said that." Jessa shrugged. "Just, if you do meet her, do NOT say the wrong thing." She said, looking at him with a smile on her face. "Are too!" She said, nodding. She giggled at his poke, and poked him back. "I have the effet of making people yawn you know." She said, laughing. "I don't wanna go to bed." She said, scrunching her nose. "I'd rather stay here, I like it, right here." She said, smiling at Eric. He was too funny sometimes. And too perfect. Who doesn't want a dorky boyfriend? A weirdo, that's who. And Jessa was not a weirdo.

"Umm, okay." he looked at her "How would I know what the right or wrong thing is to say?" he looked a little nervous. He'd never met her mum. He didn't know what her nature was. "Am not!" he nudged her as she poked him and laughed "So you're admitting you made me yawn?" he then grinned "Okay, well, I'm just gonna.." he shifted slightly, pretending like he was going to move. Haha, he was sure she'd complain.
Jessa shrugged, "Just don't say anything a Mom would want to hear, then you will be okay." She said, "Although she's the Minister, she's a normal Mum first. She wasn't always the Minister, you know." She laughed. "Are too!" She laughed, having a good time. "Yes, I made you yawn!" She said, looking like she just admitted to committing murder. "Hey!" She exclaimed. "You better not be moving. 'Cause I'm not leaving." Jessa smiled playfully at Eric.

"Oh, okay." he nodded, frowning slightly. He was going to have to make a list of things not to say. Mhmm. "I thought she would be." he grinned at her before laughing with her. "Am NOT!" he shook his head, staying stubborn. Looking at her, he narrowed his eyes slightly and then said "Well, I think you owe me an apology" he stuck his tongue out before laughing again. "Okay, okay. I'll stay" he grinned, moving back to where he was before.
Jessa shrugged. She had no advice for him when it came to talking to her Mum. "Are too!" She said, nudging him again. She was going to win this! She sniffled like she was going to cry. "But I like making people yawn." She said, then started to laugh. "Good," Jessa said, as Eric moved back. "Don't you leave." She said, giving him a playful look.

"Am noot!" he replied, still staying stubborn and then she looked like she was going to cry. "Okay, okay. I am." he gave in, smiling. "Oh, you do?" he laughed.
"Me? Leave? Why would I?" he grinned, hugging her a little tighter.
Jessa laughed. "You are too!" She said, her faint scottish accent that no one ever knew about came out. She stopped, her eyes going wide. Then, she relaxed. "See, told you. You. Are. A. Dork. But, you're my dork" She said, giving a little kiss on the cheek. "Yes, yes I do like making people yawn, but only when I do, because otherwise people would be like me if they made me yawn." Jessa said, trying to figure out her own sentence.

Looking slightly surprised as he heard a faint Scottish accent, Eric looked at Jessa. Grinning as she looked at bit shocked, he squeezed her again and laughed "So I'm your dork? Are you sure you want a dork?" he grinned, tilting his head slightly as she kissed his cheek. Whooa. Wieeerd. Not showing any surprise or how strange that felt to him, he nodded. "I THINK I understood that." he stared into the fire, repeating the sentence back to himself in his head. He'd work it out one day.
Jessa laughed. "Yes, you are my dork." She laughed. "Well, I'm with you, aren't I? Shouldn't that show that I want a dork?" She laughed, more of her Scottish accent showing. Why was her Scottish heritage showing so much? Laughing, Jessa watched as Eric looked at the fire. "Well, I didn't understand that, I don't see how you would." She said, laughing.
