As you walk into the room, you'll instantly see benches that are almost like pews. Straight opposite the door, there's a fireplace. At either side of the room, there are huge blackboards. Next to the blackboards, there are books and stacked boxes. Inside these boxes, there are things you will use for the lessons, but don't peek in them or Professor Brown might just have to give you a reason not to do it again. In front of the fireplace, there's a small, varnished desk. On this desk, there are spare quills, parchment and ink.
Come on in and take a seat! You'll learn new spells, practice old ones and hopefully find your niche here!
Feel free to approach the professor before and after class, but I'd advise you to sit down and listen during! She WILL see you talking or messing around.
Opening the door with a flick of her wand, Eva headed into the room quickly, robes billowing behind her. "Hmm." She went round the classroom, checking for litter and anything that was out of order. "Brilliant." She nodded, straightening up and then waved her wand again. A box of feathers came rushing towards her. Catching it, she smiled before waving her wand again and watching the feathers distribute themselves, one per person. She did the same with cushions, drinking glasses and some candles in holders. It was a strange array of objects, but she'd explain them later.
Leaning against her desk, Professor Brown waited for the students to come filing in. Oooh, Professor. It sounded so posh!
OOC: Feel free to RP coming into the room. 1st, 2nd and 3rd years in the front rows, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th in the back.
Stepping through the door of the classroom TJ spotted the professor smiled gently before taking a seat near the back. Not because she didn't like charms but because that was her style. Dropping her bag on the floor she sat back in her chair her eyes flickering around the room.

Walking into the room JD looked around and saw the professor. Grinning at her he noticed she was new. Well at least she don't know him yet. He thought smirking inwardly. "Hello professor." he said brightly taking a seat in the very middle of the room.
Smiling at both of the students who entered the room, Eva was inwardly celebrating about this being her first class of the year. "Hello." she replied to a Ravenclaw. "I'm Professor Brown." she introduced herself "We'll start as soon as we get some more students." she nodded towards the door, hoping more would turn up.
Walking into the Charms classroom, feeling as confident as a fourth year could after noticing that so far the only other students in the classroom were both older than her, Lexi sent everyone a bright smile. She wasn't about to be nervous, not when Charms was a class she liked and was fairly good at. "Good morning Professor Brown," she said, eyeing the benches for a second before heading for one not far from the other two students. Actually, kind of between them, as it seemed there wasn't quite as much segregation by year as there had been in Transfiguration.
Maybe Professor Brown wasn't quite as concerned about keeping them all straight. At least when it came to their years.

Watching as another student came in and sat down not too far from him, he offered her a smile. He didn't recognize her but maybe...she'd been at the school before. His eyes flickering over her robes, he noticed she was a Gryffindor. "I'm JD." he whispered over to her.
She could feel a headache coming on. It was forming right between her eyes, making it hard to think. The red head found an empty seat, dumped her bag on the ground, and sat down with an audible thump. Lunch wouldn't come soon enough. Maybe she could get a tonic for her headache. That would definitely improve her mood.
Glancing around she noticed some familiar faces though she had yet to meet any of them. She gave a feeble half hearted smile.
Watching as another student came in and sat down not too far from him, he offered her a smile. He didn't recognize her but maybe...she'd been at the school before. His eyes flickering over her robes, he noticed she was a Gryffindor. "I'm JD." he whispered over to her.
Looking up as yet another student had entered, Lexi gave the Ravenclaw girl a smile before realizing the Ravenclaw boy had turned to speak to her. She hadn't really expected that, so it took her a moment to register before she grinned. "Lexi," she whispered back. "Well, Alexandra Donovan, but who uses their full name here?" Except for maybe the professors. They liked referring to them by their full names, or at least Mr or Miss so-and-so.
As such, she glanced back up toward the front of the classroom. It didn't look like Professor Brown was too concerned about quite conversations right now, but she didn't want her father hearing she'd gotten in trouble already. That would just make things too awkward.
"Good Morning." Eva replied to the Gryffindor who'd walked in and smiled. Seeing the three of them sit down, she tapped her wand against her hand. Looking towards where the thump had come from, Eva tilted her head slightly and smiled warmly at the girl. Poor kid.
Putting her wand on her desk and clapping her hands together, Eva stood up. "Right, well, I say we get to know each other's names." she looked at all four of the students. "Do any of you know how to use magic to write?" she asked, her eyes sparkling.
Lifting her chin off her hands that were now perched on the desktop with her elbows resting. TJ raised her hand, mmmm simple writing charm was all they needed. "I do professor, which color do you need?"
"Excellent!" Eva beamed at the Slytherin. "Any colour you'd like. But I'd like you to write your name onto the chalkboard using the spell." she looked at her expectantly. This was going to be interesting. The neatness of the writing would tell Eva how accomplished the Slytherin was with this spell.
Nodding TJ stood up and walked up to the blackboard, her fingers twirling the wand as she made her way to the front. Taking a deep breath she raised her wand thinking carefully about what color she wanted to come out of her wand she traced the letters on the board.
Tomasina Jane Michaels
Turning around to face the professor, TJ slid her wand back into her wrist holster. Giving a little curtsy she blushed as she hurried back to her seat. Looking up at the perfectly even print on the board, she dipped her head. She didn't often go to the front for anything, and hadn't expected to when she'd given the answer.
Watching the Slytherin approach the blackboard, Eva nodded encouragingly and watched as she performed the spell non-verbally. Eva was VERY impressed. "So, Miss Michaels," she smiled at TJ "One point for performing the spell, one point for neatness and one point for doing it non-verbally! Well done! I'm impressed." she nodded to her "Thank you." Then Eva clapped her hands together again and looked at the others "Does anyone else know the spell?"
Lifting her head as the professor spoke, she blushed with a small smile. She'd been very proud of herself when she'd finally mastered the nonverbal spells ability. It had taken a lot but she'd finally managed it. Looking around the room, she waited to see if anyone else could.

Watching as the Slytherin student spoke up and performed the spell perfectly, JD rolled his eyes sighing exasperated. Come on, at least tell us the incantation! Shaking his head his eyes went back to the professor. Pfft he couldn't tell you if that spell even worked for him let alone what the incantation even was. All his charms turned things into fire, so well he'd probably put the Ravenclaw's into the negative...so he kept his mouth shut.
"No one?" Eva looked around the room, hoping someone would speak up. Her eyes turned to the Ravenclaw boy who'd sighed. "Okay, so I'll tell you the charm." Waving her wand at the board, TJ's name disappeared. And then with another wave of her wand, the spell appeared on the board.
Nota Litterae.
"The wand movement is smooth, slow. And as you're just learning, you'll have to write the words in the air." Eva explained, nodding to TJ. "So, lets practice the movement. Use your feathers please." she indicated the feathers in front of each person. Showing them the left to right, smooth wand movement, she kept her eyes on them. Hopefully they'd copy her perfectly. It was a great starting point.
Seeing the professor nod at her, she gave her a little smile in return. Picking up the feather, she held it lightly in her fingers, just like she did with her wand. Allowing the shaft of the feather to move easily along her fingers as she traced the words in the air.
Thinking the words in her head, she could picture the words appearing as she wrote them. Though she wondered if there was a way to do like rainbow colored instead of just one specific color...

Listening to the professor speak he ducked his head and blushed when she looked right at him when he let out the sigh. Looking down at the feather infront of him, he was like tracing in the air? Wait wouldn't that look ridiculous? Glancing around he saw an older student already doing it.
Well at least no wand was required yet...no way of starting a fire this way. Picking up the feather he muttered the incantation a few times as he traced the letters in his name. "Professor...how would you add a color to the letters then?"
Wait, feathers?! Ashlyn stared at the Professor incredulously for a moment before raising her hand. "Professor," she said, flashing the woman a patronisingly sweet smile. "Why wouldn't we just use our wands to practice? I mean, we need to use them to perform the spell, right? It just seems an unnecessary step." Not to mention a waste of time. She tilted her head towards the older students who picked up the feathers before looking back at the teacher awaiting her answer. She did not need to look as ridiculous as they did.
Smiling at TJ, Eva watched her and nodded. "Perfect!" she then looked to JD. "Well done!" she nodded, watching his feather movement. When he asked a question, she smiled. Enthusiasm was good. "Well, I'll teach you that later. It's all coming up in the lesson." she smiled at him warmly before looking over at the Slytherin who'd raised her hand. "Because, Miss..?" she hoped the student would give her name. "If this spell goes wrong because of the wand movement, something could happen to my classroom. In case you hadn't noticed, I need this classroom. And I need it intact." she replied, not paying attention to the girl's attitude.
"If you don't practice the movement with the feather and go straight to casting the spell and happen to blow something up, you'll be the one explaining to the Headmistress why it needs repairing." she tilted her head slightly. "So, look like a fool for a minute or so, or end up in front of the Headmistress with a week's worth of detentions because you refused to do one silly thing?" she gave her the choice, laying it out clearly for her.
"It's Ashlyn Montague," she said, purposely enunciating the words for the professor, then frowned slightly at her explanation. She didn't think it was that difficult a spell that something so terrible would go wrong. Obviously the professor was overly cautious. But Ashlyn was not going to argue because she did not want a week's worth of detention.
Letting out a small sigh, the 4th year picked up the feather and waved it in the air, mimicking the professor's movement as she traced the letters of her name. She stopped, glanced first at the other students practicing and then at the professor before starting it again. Fairly sure she had it down correctly, she really hoped they'd be trying it with their wands soon.
Jessabelle took her feather and smoothly wrote her name. She wanted to move on, so after a few more feather practices, she raised her hand. "Professor, can we use the spell now?" This was Charms class. Shouldn't they be learning how to perform Charms? It seemed logical. She kept practicing with her feather, but looked at the Professor somewhat patiently.
Eric and Jessa He's the head boy, She's the Minister's daughter. Can you say "Perfect Couple"?
"Well, hello, Miss Montague," Eva watched her wave the feather in the air. Nodding and smiling, she replied with her approval "Well done!" It really hadn't been that hard, had it? Then another student caught her attention. "I was just about to move onto that." she twirled her wand skillfully which made the other blackboard come closer and both were wiped completely clean. "Wands out, please." she nodded to everyone, then turned slightly to the board and cast the spell on the closest to her. It read 'Cast the spell carefully and write your name on the board. I will go into some more depth later.' Smiling at them all, she waited to see them perform the spell.
Jessa took her wand out and had to fight nervously not to let her hand shaking ruin the spell. "Nota Litterae." She said, clearly, doing the wand movements. She pointed her wand toward the chalk board and made smooth hand movements. A smile appeared on Jessabelle's face as letters appeared on the board.
Jessabelle Leroy
Jessa was tempted to put 'Minister's Daughter' but anyone who knew her Mum would be able to see the resemblance.
