Pattern: Runecloth Bag : is available to be bought in Winterspring (61,37) from a vendor named Qia. The pattern costs 1.2 gold to buy and you can sell it in the AH for up to 8 gold. This is a limited supply item so you may have to wait up to an hour for it to appear. Schematic: Gnomish Cloaking Device : is available to be bought in the Hillsbrad foothills from a vendor named Zan Shivsproket (84,19). The pattern costs 24 silver and can sell for up to 10 gold in the AH. Also a limited supply item. Another tip is to spend as little money in the AH "Buying" gear as possible. Only blue items are worth the money unless you can find cheap greens. You can get a lot of good equipment from quest rewards to get you by. Also you can get a lot of free blue gear from dungeon drops that are better than green drops. I am talking about buying gear from the AH to use. You can make some good gold off people selling things in the AH for the wrong prices. So always check thottbot for prices. Leather, Ore, and Cloth sell really well in the AH. People need it to power level their professions. So this is another way to make some good gold. Also factor in supply and demand. If there is a big supply of an item in the AH it will be harder to get a lot of gold for it so check back when only a few items are up. |

I have to say that buying anything from any vendor no matter how rare and selling for outragous prices in the AH has always been a huge peeve of mine. I find that it is just another way of ripping off other players. It makes it seem as though its o.k. to burn them if they don't know any better. For a guild concerned with its appearance in the game I would seriously consider how it looks to be selling vendor items this way. I wouldn't say I have never sold any vendor item in the AH but I combat high prices by just buying enough to flood the market, at a price to just make a little over the vendors. This way you are helping not only yourself make gold but also those buying your items as well as help change the economy of the server. I will tell you about making gold in the AH. I have 8 alliance characters on this server. I have all trades covered. I do not buy any materials, I work for all of them. I make and sell only superior (blue) items and better. If anything can also be added to any of the items such as an enchant or armor kit i will also add as best I can. It is extreemly rare I ever have to put an item in the AH twice to sell it. Another strategy i use is to look if the item I am putting in is already there and undercutting the current prices. Usually I am putting item in on mass, four or more at a time so I sort of take over the market in stages. My record to date was almost a week ago I made 700 gold in 8 days. Its rare to make that much for me right now as I am not making any end game items yet. As a matter of fact, most of the item I sell are between levels 20 and 50. So imagine how much better it will get when I am selling level 70 epic and such. Another thing I don't do is spend gold in the AH on items I will grow out of. Once you reach 70 its another story all together I my suggestion is to save your gold for that. I am hoping to make enough now to have all 8 of my characters on epic mounts as soon as they reach 60. (yes epic mounts are worth it, the game goes alot faster) |

I don't see that as ripping off other players, because its selling as the AH suggested price. Also it is a limted supply item and its not like you can buy one from anywhere at anytime. Pretty much everything in the AH is over priced. The AH is for people who don't have the time or do not want to put the time into farming items. But this is my opinion as that is yours. Thanks for the reply Ygg!

The one thing that nobody has mentioned yet is Auctioneer. Auctioneer is an interface addon to the World of Warcraft (TM) game. Auctioneer enhances the WoW interface by adding additional information to the tooltips in the game that allow you to see additional information on the value of items in the game. Also when posting an auction, Auctioneer will tell you if your competition is under market value. If there is a high demand you could by those items under market and resell. Currently the latest, stable version is 4.0.5 which can be found on the Helping Hands Guild web site at http://hh-guild.game-host.org. There is a newer version of Auctioneer called ActioneerAdvance or Classic 5. However, there is still some minor work being done. Version 5 was rebuilt from the ground up so it has a whole new interface. Both versions can run side by side with each other. I have been doing that until version 5 is completely stable and ready. Once I know that 5 is where it needs to be, I will remove version 4. To be fair, I am still trying to figure all of version 5 out, so I do not know as much about it as I'd like but I am working on it. If you want more information on AuctioneerAdvance5 or Classic5 you can go here. |

I guess I fall into the category of selling lower. I have always thought prices where inflated and generally my estimate is way below what the going rate is anyway. In the long run I doubt I will drive prices down by nyself but when I can buy a pattern for 2G and the going rate is 7G I generally will sell for 4 - 5G. So maybe I fall in the middle. |

Mega FYI Summary: Auctioneer 4.0.5 is no longer available for download, and is no longer supported by the Auctioneer team. Details: WoW 2.3 includes changes to the auction durations (from 2, 8, and 24 hours to 12, 24, and 48 hours). As a result, Auctioneer 4.0.5 appears to no longer be able to reliably post auctions. There are some reported workarounds, but also some reports of lost items and mis-priced auctions. We have now removed Auctioneer 4.0 from the release download page, to prevent any more users from downloading this malfunctioning version. Please note that we do not intend to release any more updates to the Auc4 line. As such, it is our strong suggestion that all users now install either Auctioneer Classic 5.0 (which is most like Auctioneer 4.0.5, with only a few major differences) or Auctioneer Advanced 5.0 (which is a major re-write). |

Thanks for the information Tubalbain. It is most helpful. I have looked into this and as a result I have removed version 4.0.5 from the Guild Web Site. In it's place I have put Advanced 5 and Classic 5 Suites. To be on the safe side, if you are using Actioneer 4.0.5, you might want to remove it from the Interface/Addons directory before installing Auctioneer Advance Suite 5 or Auctioneer Classic Suite 5. I have been using 4.0.5 and I haven't had any issues and my prices have been pretty accurate. I do know of some people that have experienced lost auctions, though. I will be removing 4.0.5 from my systems and using Advanced Suite. Remember though that Advanced is a complete rewrite and may still have issues. Thanks again Tubalbain for the update. |

When I was skilling up Tailoring I had to pay an exorbitant overprice for that pattern or camp the vendor for hours. Either way it wastes my time so you can make a quick profit at my expense. |
