Welcome to the most spectacular city of any kingdom. It is a massive settlement, home to hundreds of thousands of people, well as the head of the glorious and mighty Denethrien Empire, Lucius XVII. Denethier is the jewel of the Denethrien Empire, a city spanning several square miles and protected by high walls, constructed out of shimmering white stone and built thick enough for a chariot driven by four horses to ride along its ramparts. The most glorious piece of Denethier is at its heart: the Imperial Palace. Travelers are welcome here, and they would be foolish not to accept. The city is home to hundreds of blacksmiths, stone masons, and artisans beyond count, as well as more inns than any man could choose from.

These plains are the connecting landmass between all of the cities, towns, hamlets, forests, and all other means of locations and settlements in the mighty Denethrien Empire. Across this vast expanse of land, one can find towns, ranches, and forts beyond count. Farms line every river and extend into the surrounding countryside. The fertile countryside has provided for the men that live here for thousands of years. Crossing this plain means traveling along some of the best roads in the known world.

Tideira, the greatest fortress city in all kingdoms of men. This walled metropolis sits straddling the mighty Nypress River. At the center of the city is a sturdy citadel, defended by yet another set of thick stone walls, constructed on a long, narrow island in the middle of the river. Several stone bridges span the river on each side of said island. Long have Tideira's mighty citadel and her brave, loyal garrison safeguarded the eastern frontier of the Denetrien Empire. Many times have nobles, orc and human alike, attempted the crossing of the Nypress River with armies ranging from a few hundred to a few tens of thousands. All of these attempts were thwarted, thanks to the soldiers based in Tideira.

The Anyan Mountains are a long mountain range running north-south along the western border of the Denethrien Empire. These mountains are the main reason that little is known about the lands to the west. A lack of roads through the high, snowy passes means that few men from the empire pass by that way, and given that little is known about the peoples that live to the west, if any, there is little reason to even travel there.

These mountains form the northern border of the mighty Denethrien Empire. This range is also the origin of the great Nypress River.

When one first enters the Mellenic Woods, they find nothing but a thick forest, with few lighted patches and clearings, with winding paths that start and stop, seemingly leading to nothing in particular. Without a guide or a strong sense of direction, a group of travelers can easily get lost in the woods, however, if one makes it deep enough into the forest, they will find something even more mysterious and spectacular.

In an area surrounding the hidden kingdom of the Mellenic Peoples, a traveler can find large patches of lush forest, not so thick as the rest of the woods, but rather well groomed, with light shining down through the broken canopy. The trees grow in orderly rows, sometimes breaking into rings around stone shrines adorned with mysterious runes, each one glowing with a sacred light. Many of these shrines are, according to legend, home to the nymphs, the guardians of the woods. At some of the larger shrines, there are small pools of water surrounded by vibrant flowers and shrubs. These places of worship are the holiest of locales for the peoples who call this forest home.

This is a massive stretch of grassland and rolling hills that serves to link the mighty Empire of Denethier with the scattered kingdoms of the east. Some places in this grassland contain patched of forest, lakes, rivers, and valleys. For the most part, the eastern plains are like the Russian steppes, with hills here and there, and some forests, but mostly just mundane grassland.

Where two rivers from the Keltoic Peaks meet, there is a large patch of wet soil. Over the millennia, this region has grown in a swamp, teeming with life. In the explored areas, of which there are few, most of the land is covered by shallow, murky water. The swamp itself is home to many foul creatures. The depths of the area are teeming with orcs. The small caverns scattered here and there under large rock outcroppings and trees are filled with goblins. It is rumored that an even fouler terror rules over the swamps from deep within a vast underground tunnel system. Some say it is the devil himself, but no one is quite sure what lives there...

The Keltoic Range is a massive stretch of mountains bordering the Eastern Plains on the southeast. The roots of the mountains are covered in lush forests and scarred by beautiful valleys, carved by mighty rivers flowing from the glaciers upon the high summits of the mountains. In the great heights of these peaks, the air becomes frigid as the once bare, grey rock is covered in sheet of snow. High in the mountains, one can see the glorious Druids' Tower poking up from the rock and ice. For hundreds of years, travelers have tried to find the gates to this great structure, but all have failed. It is rumored that the entrance to this fortress is buried under the mountains themselves, but no mortal has ever found these gates and returned to the civilized world to tell the tale.

Somewhere, high on the icy slopes of the Keltoic Peaks, one can see a great stone tower rising from the rock of the mountains. The tower reaches high into the air, with beautiful glass windows looking out upon the glaciers below. Low on the tower, there are many other wings and appendixes. This is the majestic home of the race of powerful magicians known as druids.

Just north of the Keltoic Peaks, there is a small expanse of rugged hills, gullies, and valleys. This region, known as the Hills of Gerrling, is a region teeming with Dwarves. Ruled from the nearby capital cities dug underground in the mountains just to the east, the Dwarves here spend most of their time mining for some of the finest iron ore in all the known world, hunting deer in the overworld for the next Dwarven feast, and combating waves of cave goblins. In addition to iron ore, the Hills of Gerrling are also full of gold and gems, one of the many sources of the vast wealth of the Dwarven kingdoms. Scattered about the lakes and river valleys of the Iron Hills, there are humans who trade with the Dwarves, and make their homes under the protection of the Dwarf kings.

The Mountains of Kaliador form a mighty mountain range northeast of the Keltoic Peaks. These mountains are home to many kingdoms of the great Dwarf lords, so many, in fact, that Kaliador is simply considered a lone entity as a kingdom, while, in reality, Kaliador is seldom united under a single king, and is a politically dynamic region of the world.

The Karima River Passage marks the opening of the Aladimus Valley, where the mighty Karima River has sliced away the rock over the many ages of the world, forming an intricate region of the valley, including hundreds of tributary rivers in the area, which spans approximately 80 miles. The land here is very rocky, and has dense forests and many, many places to ford its copious rivers, so ferries are not necessary. The rough terrain is not suitable for settlement, so this region has long served as a buffer zone for the elven kingdom beyond.

The mighty Emerr has been rushing through these lands for thousands of years. It forms the very heart of the Aladimus Valley Region. It is surrounded by cold, fresh rivers and lush forests, as well as the great kingdom of the immortal elves.

Isthalia is the heart of the elven world. The city sits along the Emerr River, and is the capital of the kingdom in the Aladimus Valley. Long have the elves shielded the world of the dwarves and druids from the marauding orcs to the north. The Mountains of Kaliador, located just south, isolate the elves from the rest of the world, as do the Green Mountains to the northeast.

This wasteland seems entirely made up of a large expanse of jagged hills, cliffs, and gullies, all adorned with bare, grey rock. There are several rivers that cut into the otherwise dry countryside, forming muddy channels of water. Where rocks do not mask the soil beneath, the earth is crowned by dry, yellow and brown grasses, some of them waist-high, like primitive, wild wheat. Despite this appearance, the land has some fertility to yield, a secret the orcs have long tapped into the power their crude, yet effective farms. The countryside is also home to a multitude of various, if bizarre life, as if everything here, including the orcs themselves, were created amidst the masses of chaos left over from the creation of the universe.

The Black Woods are a terrible, frightening place. The name seems as though it may suggest evil, mysterious forests, while, in reality, it is a large expanse of burned forest. Dead and fallen trees lie blackened across the hillsides, far as the eye can see. These hills have become a favorite mustering ground for orc warlords. From atop the highest ridges in the region, one will be able to see at leas three orc camps at a time, each housing at least 1,500 orc troops. The rest of this land is scattered with old, abandoned villages which once housed humans. Some humans still live here, though many have died.

Dera-Gorath, the largest orc fortress in all the Wastes. The name literally means "Fortress of Desire" in the common tongue. Dera-Gorath, while being a military establishment at heart, contains a whole settlement of orcs, complete with housing, albeit crudely built, and barracks for 8,000 orcs. The landscape outside of Dera-Gorath has been cut apart by the orcs' farming methods.
