Day 31 Scripture: Romans 12: 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is -- his good, pleasing and perfect will. Application: When I entered into my weight loss journey, I was transformed by the renewing of my mind. I cannot put it any simpler stated than what this Scripture states. I first felt conviction (along with annoyance and shame) as to how I let my body go. I would read the Bible and passages would leap out at me encouraging me it was time for action. It was stepping out in faith when I first enrolled at eDiets.com It provided anonymity for me, but gave me the tools I needed to transform my mindset. God can use any environment to renew your mind. eDiets is a commercial, secular site, and yet, after being there and learning so much about dieting, within a month’s time they added a message Board for Christian dieters to support each other on a journey of health. Coincidence? No, not in God’s Kingdom. It is what I called a Godincidence. I began doing a Bible study on dieting and freely I needed to share the Word with others. They did not exactly flock to the study to receive conviction, but once genuine cleansing and healing started to occur for the dieter, people came and went on for a total of 3 times to with just one study in the book of Proverbs alone. God gave freely to me, and I must freely pass onto you the Word that sent me along my journey. I am now approving what is God’s will for me according to Scripture, and the results I have received by following His way and will for me is something I can see in my body. You can do it too, and you can have everlasting success this time. This is not a gimmick or a quick fix by any means. This is transformation by the renewing (from God’s Word) of your mind to be in His highest will for you. Step out in faith and claim the new creature in Christ He desires to make you. Prayer: Lord God, we can test and prove what Your will is by applying Scriptures and examining ourselves. Where we lack, we that You transform us by the renewing of our minds against the light of the Word. Help us to change our mindset and ways so that we may please You in our walk. In Jesus’ name.
