Scripture: Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

Application: Unswervingly means without turn. Fix your eyes on the Author and Finisher of your faith. Dieting is not about you, but about Him who is faithful. His Word to us reads a love letter with promises. We can take God at face value, for the truth is in Him and He can not waiver. He asks us to place all of our burdens at the foot of the cross, and not to reach down and take them back again. Have you given this area of weight loss over to Him yet? He cares and is able to shed that weight from your body. Have doubts that He is concerned about that? Anything that trouble you troubles Him because He has promised to bless those that overcome, and we discover on a daily basis that He provides us with a means of escape for every food temptation that is thrown our way. There is a cute saying, “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” After you have been following your diet plan for awhile, and you are tempted to revert to old patterns of self-indulgence you will discover a loss of the pleasure that bingeing and self-indulgence used to bring. Skinny does indeed feel better because that is the way God designed your body, and you will feel better about yourself for not swerving from the truth in that. He is our hope for freedom. We have tried everything else possibly, why not try it God’s way now?

Prayer: Lord God, keep me focused that dieting is not about how miserably I have failed in the past, but how with my commitment to complete it with Your help and strength, it can be accomplished with time with permanency. We thank You, Lord God, that we can bring all our cares to you, for You care for us. Amen
