Kiira watched the four surveyors selected for this mission and the ship pilot discuss the best approach. They spoke among themselves and then directed comments at the screen, though which they could see the research teams back at the ships. They were concerned with the safety and best area to land at. Some felt starting at higher ground would be best. Others felt in an open area it would be easer to spot danger. Personally she was just eager to finally be on land again. To her, it wouldn't matter where they landed. Her job would remain the same in any situation. She was here to protect the research team. Now this was the big issue... the kinds of creatures were they going to run into! She had seen various images taken. These guys where huge, giant animals all over the planet. Kiira backed out of the doorway of the communication room. She turned and headed down the narrow hall of the small exploration ship. Turning the corner, she then entered another small room on her right. Here several other guardians sat, socializing. "Looks like it's either going to be the hill or the clearing. I'm just hoping whatever is out there is not immune to our weapons." |

Makus's blue eyes flickered up when he saw Kiira enter the room, he raised a hand to stop the others from chatting over her. He listened to what she said before he shrugged his shoulders and ran long fingers through his unruling black hair. "I vote the hill, see what were up against nature and creature wise" he said throwing in his opinion. Clearing his throat he pushed himself from his seat and motioned with his hand for the others to do the same, they did so rather quickly. Makus like Kiira was a guardian and as such they were required to protect the people they were told to protect. Makus looked to Kiira and his small fleet of six guardians plus him and Kiira. Makus looked to them before directing his glance back to the Seridian woman. "Well..." he said pausing and waiting for an answer as he loaded a rather large two handed gun before swinging it over his back by a thick black strap, another small one on his hip. |

Kiira nodded her head. She didn't want to show any sign of fear. "I'm sure we can handle this regardless of where the surveyors want to start" she said, reaching for her two phaser handguns that were on the next seat over from Makus. First she inserted those into the holsters on each side of her thighs. Then she took a larger plasma sniper rifle and strapped it into its harness on her back. The sniper rifle was a personal favorite. Kiira looked back up at Makus. Her pale blue eyes paused for a second as they met his gaze. The moment was interrupted as a young surveyor ran in. "We've decided to start on the hill! If thats all right with you..." he waited on the final word from the unit leader. |

Makus watched as Kiira attached the plasma rifle and guns to her body, she was a tough woman and Makus knew Kiira could handle herself well enough. Still there were times when he worried about her, like any friend would do. He cleared his throat before meeting her gaze her pale blue eyes meeting with his bright blue ones for a few seconds. Makus's eyes flickered from Kiira to the young surveyor, he listened to what he said "yes, we will start there I will take two men and Kiira will take two, we will travel to the hill together and remain together till I give the command to separate" he said then ready himself before giving a quick nod to Kiira. Makus acted serious when needed. |

The pilot slowly lowered the ship, hovering over the lading area, then bringing it down. Kiira and Makus moved down closer to the hangar. After the signal, the door was opened. Kiira was already holding out one of the phasers in her hand. The other Guardians moved out. They were to secure the landing area first before Kiira and Makus brought out the Surveyors. After the area was secured. They ventured out. Kiira motioned for her two researcher to stay behind her as they made their way out of the craft and onto the dark rocky surface of the hill. The vegetation was tall and towing over them. Kiira's eyes narrowed, she scanned the foliage. Her ears would slightly twitch in reaction to any suspicious sounds. Every few minutes a breeze would pick up, making the plants sway, and causing even more rustling noise. In the distance they could hear some kind of bird calls. The researching were carrying with them cases. The cases contained various instruments for scanning the soil, air, water, plant, and energy samples. They would need to find some place set these up in order to begin their work. |
