The bitter-sweet aroma or coffee beans and doughnuts had filled the quaint store Aroe sat in, directly across from his beloved girlfriend. They each had a warm---or at least, they were warm when they got them...---beverage, and a slice of chocolate cake lay between them. He had walked her over (the shop was conveniently close to campus) with a suprise, which he held in a Delta Airline folder under the table with his free hand.

Aly sipped her drink with both hands, smiling at Aroe bemusedly. She speared a bite of the cake between them with her fork and popped it in her mouth--it was delicious. Her eyes sparkled.

"So?" she prompted. "What do mean, 'surprise'?"

Aroe's smile broadened as he laid the envelope in front of her. It was a Friday, and Hartman's two-week break had just started seeing as the classes had ended for the day.

"I thought you might like to visit Trina and Lawrence while we're off." He told her, eager to see her reaction. "But I do have one condition: I'm coming with."

Aly couldn't speak for a second. She stared at the envelope: Delta Airlines.

Then it hit her. I'm going to Montana. And Aroe's coming with me!

They were lucky there weren't very many people in the shop. "Aroe!" Aly squealed. "I--you--we--...I can't believe you did this!" Aly covered her mouth with her hand.

Aroe couldn't help the chuckle that escaped him---he knew her reaction would be priceless. Where was his camera when he needed it? "I'm glad you like it, sweetheart." He said happily, "Although I do have one more condition." Hopefully this wouldn't dampen her mood... "I was planning for us to spend 8 days in Montana with your family, and the rest with mine."

Aly shook her head, still laughing happily. "No, no, that's fine! I'd love to meet your family!" She raked a hand through her black hair.

"Oh my God, Aroe..." Aly said softly, shaking her head. "You're so good to me." She glanced up to meet his eyes, and hers were shining. How could she have landed with a better guy?

Aroe shook his head, the smile still painted across his face. "You obviously don't know how amazing you are to me, Aly." He replied, standing with his drink. "You should get packed. Do you want me to get a doggy bag for that cake?"

((Shall we skip to the plane or Montana?))

Aroe had gotten all their luggage onto a cart and had his fingers intwined with Aly's as the walked through the airport. They had just arrived in Montana about 10 minutes ago, and Aly was looking around for her adoptive parents. Aroe had never formally or informally met Trina or Lawrence, so he wasn't exactly much help in the search...

((How's that?))

(Great.)

Aly craned her neck, fingers intertwined with Aroe's tightly. Suddenly, she saw Trina and Lawrence. Aly ran towards them, tugging Aroe with her. "Lawrence! Trina!" she cried, and then she was enveloped in Lawrence's soft, spicy smell and leather jacket. She smiled up at him and turned to Trina, hugging her adoptive mother tightly.

"Hi, sweetie," Lawrence said gruffly. Trina just grinned.

Aly turned and smiled at Aroe, eyes sparkling. "Lawrence and Trina, Aroe," she introduced. "Aroe, Lawrence and Trina."

Aroe smiled at the sweet scene of Aly's reunion. He nodded to both of them, hands at his sides. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you both---Aly's told me so much about you."

Lawrence narrowed his eyes and surveyed the boy. He looked okay--Lawrence nodded and shared a glance with Trina. "Nice to meet you, too," Lawrence greeted the guy gruffly ((apparently, that's LAwrence's default tone)), shaking Aroe's hand.

Trina was warmer. "It's wonderful to meet you, Aroe," she said, eyes sparkling. She smiled warmly.

Aroe shook the man's hand happily, feeling the strength in his grip. He hoped they approved of him as their adopted daughter's boyfriend, though both of their greetings seemed welcoming enough. He pulled the cart over, "I hope this fits in your car---Aly went shopping a few times before we came."

He winked at his beloved girlfriend---they had agreed to keep the kidnapping experience to themselves.

Aly shot Aroe a relieved look--Lawrence would flip if he knew--as Trina laughed. "It'll fit." She led the group outside, where, even though it was spring break,it was still chilly outside. That was Montana for you.

Aly closed her eyes and inhaled the fresh air. She loved this place--it was her home. She bit her lip happily and smiled at Aroe, leaning into him a bit as they walked. "I love you," she whispered, hopefully out of earshot of the Cooks.

"I love you more." Aroe countered, sneaking a peck onto her lips when her parents weren't looking. "I'll to give Lawrence a hand with those bags." He smiled as he helped Mr. Cook load the bags into the trunk.

/Not possible,/ Aly thought at Aroe, shaking her head. Her eyes were sparkling.

Lawrence glanced in surprise and approval as the young man helped with the bags.

((It's alright, Amz---I was answering on mine last night. I understand.))

Aroe gave a smile to Lawrence as he helped the older man, sliding into the back seat next to his girlfriend once they were done. He was eager to see the home Aly had grown up in---maybe later she could give him a tour of the town.

Aly could see the look on his face. She grinned and leaned into him, resting her head against his chest. "I'll show you around later," she promised as Lawrence slid into the driver's seat.

Lawrence started the engine with a roar, and they drove off. (Urgh. Skip to when they're at the house and Aly can show Aroe the house- and then the small town?)

(Haha, glad I had the idea first. You seem to be beating me in the idea portion of the roleplay lately. xD This topic is Exhibit A.)

Soon enough, they were pulling into the driveway of the small house the three of them shared. Aly felt a rush of familiarity fill her at the sight of it. If it had been anyone other than Aroe, she might have been embarrassed at the modest accomodation. But it was Aroe. So Aly opened the door and slid out of the car.

She turned around, surveying the house happily. She turned to Aroe. "Home sweet home," Aly said, laughing quietly.

(Don't forget the email idea! -wink wink- Hahah, sorry for bragging. But you have great ideas too! I just have much too much free time, lol.)

Aroe looked over the house curiously. It looked quaint and cozy, like some of the smaller houses his mother found in Home Decorating magazines. He couldn't wait to see the interior. Suddenly a thought hit him---he would probably be staying in a lonely guest room, wouldn't he? Well, he could put up with that for /her/.

Aroe smiled at his beloved girlfriend, "It's beautiful."

"I wouldn't call it that, but thanks," Aly laughed. "The better part of my life was spent here, though. I love it here."

Aly led him inside as Trina unlocked the door. To the left, was a small, cozy room with a leather couch, Lawrence's armchair, a coffee table, and a wall-mounted TV. "This is the living room." Aly tugged her boyfriend a little farther, into a cheerful yellow-painted room with white overhead cupboards, a stove, oven, microwave, and more storage around the walls, and a circular wooden table with chairs. "This is the kitchen." Aly turned around to survey his reaction so far.

Aroe was enjoying the tour---the house wasn't like most he had seen. For instance, if you walked into his home, you might think his parents were a bit... well, obsessed with the color white. Most of the house was painted and furnished in the 'peaceful and calming' color. One of the reasons he had painted his own room silver.

When Aly looked back at him with an expectant expression, he greeted her with a smile and a cocked eyebrow.

A grin spread over Aly's face, and she kissed him on the cheek. "Come on. I'll show you my room."

She led the way up the wooden stairs and into a bright room. One wall was sky blue, another wall was purple, and the other two were their original white hue. There was a big window on the wall opposite the door overlooking the front of the house, complete with a window seat. There were a few pictures tacked to a bulletin board over the piano on the east wall, and lots of pieces of paper with notes and symbols scribbled onto them. The bed was on the west wall. There was a small rectangular mirror next to the closed closet door.

Aly turned to Aroe, raising an eyebrow. She bit her lip.

"Now this looks like a fun room." Aroe chuckled, looking around.

He walked to the window, eager to see the view. He tried to imagine a much younger Aly---playing the piano, perhaps? Or maybe reading a book while she relaxed on the window seat. Aroe took a seat on her bed. It was a bit springy, but still felt soft to the touch.

Aly smiled softly. She hadn't been here in weeks, and a rush of memories overcame her. A twelve year old Aly, still a little shy---she had barely spoken to Lawrence and Trina for weeks, months after they had taken her in---discovering music for the first time, getting lost in it. Using it as a sort of mental therapy. Reading a book, lying awake at night staring at the ceiling.

"It used to be all white." Aly smiled wryly. "But I couldn't stand it, so I went and got some paint from the store. Trina helped me. Lawrence nearly had a heart attack when he saw, but he learned to live with it." Aly laughed a little and went to sit with Aroe on the bed, tilting her chin to rest on his shoulder.

Aroe held back a laugh at the coincidence in what she said. "Wait till you come home with me---everything's white." Aroe informed her, turned his baby-blue eyes to meet her as he trace her lips with the tip of his index finger. "I couldn't take it either---I painted my room silver."

"I can't wait to take you home with me." Aroe chuckle his reply, curling a finger around her chin and guiding her lips to his. He wasn't sure how many moments he would get to be this close to Aly, so he savored this moment and kissed her with a new found urgency.

((It's okay, lol. Maybe you could reply for Aly and then Trina or Lawrenc walk in? ...Or both, lol. -mischevious smile-))

Aly kissed him back gladly---enthusiastically. The only downside of being at Lawrence and Trina's place was that they wouldn't have very many moments like this---so Aly decided to enjoy it while she could. She ran her fingers through Aroe's hair and deepened the kiss...

...just as Trina knocked on the door and pushed it aside slightly. "Ahem." She cleared her throat.

Aly jumped apart from Aroe. "Trina!" she gasped.

"Yes," Trina answered, rather amused. "Is this not a good time?"

(Sorry, just Trina, lol.)

(Lol, just Trina works too. ^_^)

Ah, her skin was like silk as she ran her fingers through his hair. Aroe was about to bring his arms around her when Aly suddenly jumped away. Then he noticed Trina. Man, people just didn't want to leave them alone! First Casey back at campus, and now this. He had been right---he wasn't going to get many moment alone with Aly. But he had promised himself he would learn to share.

The smile he put on was just a bit nervous as he acknowledged Aly's adoptive mother. "Sorry about that," He apologized, unsure what else to say, "It's a fine time."

"I'm sure it is." Trina smiled secretively, and paused. "Are you sure?"

Christ. People just couldn't leave them alone. Aly shook her head to clear it. "No, no," she said quickly. "It's, uh, fine."

Trina chuckled to herself and directed the question at Aly. "Well, I was going to ask if you wanted to show Aroe around a bit before supper. Lawrence is grilling steak, if you wanted to know. Is that okay?" Trina looked at Aroe.

"That sounds great," Aroe nodded, putting on a polite smile, "I've heard he's a great cook." He hoped his gaze wasn't giving away the fact that he was dying for Trina to leave them to some privacy. He didn't want to seem rude.

Aly bit her lip. She was excited to show Aroe around--and a little apprehensive--but she was dying to be alone with him. "Later," she promised him under her breath, Aly quickly combed her fingers through her hair and began to pull on her boots.

Trina hid a smile. She could see Aly and Aroe were dying to be alone together, but then, Trina decided they could be alone later. After all, Aroe was sleeping in the guest room, and they would want to spend time with each other.

"He's an excellent cook," Trina agreed, smiling. She liked Aroe.

Then she turned to Aly. "You've got..." Trina looked at her watch. "Oh, about an hour or two before dinner. Have fun." Trina grinned wickedly at her adoptive daughter and quietly exited the room.

Aly blew out her breath and gave Aroe a quick smile. "Don't worry, it'll be fun," she promised. "And Trina's pretty lax about how late we can stay up. She's pretty lax about a lot of the unimportant stuff, actually," Aly remembered. "We'll have time to be together later."

Aroe stuck with his smile as Trina spoke her farewell, and laughed when she was finally out of the room. He fell back onto the bed, bring Aly down with him and stroking her hair, still chuckling.

"I love them already." He told her. They seemed so inviting---usually when a girlfriend brought him home (to be honest, it wasn't often), her parents were usually as rude as they could possibly be, just because they could see straight through his 'public personality'. Maybe Trina saw that he felt different about Aly...

"So, do I get to stay in this room tonight?" He asked, raising an eyebrow curiously as he pulled her closer.

Aly smiled softly. "I know. I love them, too. And I know Trina likes you, and Lawrence thinks you're "good enough", which basically means he likes you, too."

Aly rolled over onto her stomach and kissed him. "And I think the whole 'guest room' problem can be arranged. Without Trina knowing."

Aroe met her sweet lips gladly, locking his arms around her waist. "Good," He whispered, "Because I would have been so lonely in that guest room. It must be cold, too..." He trailed off, flipping them over so that he was above Aly before he pressed his lips against hers. They could wait a bit more until they continued the tour, couldn't they?

Aly walked out of the house into the crisp air, tugging Aroe behind her. The streets were still slick with last night's rain, and Aly slipped and clutched Aroe for support.

She turned to her beloved boyfriend. "Where would you like to go first?" Aly was grinning. Since when had she gotten so lucky?

"Woah!" Aroe was quick to catch her, bring her to him with a strong but gentle hand around her waist to ensure she wouldn't suffer another almost-fall. "Be careful, Aly." He smiled down at her before allowing his gaze to drift out upon the landscape before them.

"Hmm," He hummed in thought, "Where was your favorite place as a child, Aly?"
