Chapter 1 First Phase : The Frontline Pillar After one full day of endless fight between AITO’s forces and the Empire, the battle finally ended with an obvious victory for the Atlantic Intercontinental Treaty Organization, due to their numbers and advancement in technology. NEO forces had suffered quite a number of casualties from the battle that they couldn’t actually win and as a result of this, NEO forces had to permanently surrender Taiwan to the treaty organization, leaving one of their Pacific Frontier open to AITO’s aggression. With this, AITO had actually steadied their position on eastern Asia, and actually giving them the upper hand on their long term operation plans. However, the whole thing is not really over, as according to their blue print of full power aggression, Japan had now become the next in line to be the war zone. In this case, surrendering the Taiwan region was actually one flaw that would probably put the Empire into critical situation, and obviously had gave AITO a solid base for the next raid. But, things didn’t really go smoothly at AITO’s end. The number of the fleet they sent to secure the frontline was significantly reduced due to unconfirmed source of attacks that happened along the coastline of Solomon’s island. 21 battle ships and 3 platoons of mobile suits had actually being completely wiped out by an unknown source as they passed the misty area of oceanic region. The AITO investigation team hadn’t been able to find the cause of that incident, and there was literary no real survivor able to be a witness of that tragedy. The President of the treaty organization had finally made a thoughtful decision by utilizing cover up story for the whole incident and spread out different facts of propaganda in order to maintain their soldier’s morale. However, the intelligence had suspected that there was a secret development program from the Empire to produce military weapons that defies the Luxemburg charter. But so far there was no clear evidence to proof their suspicions. NEO had a solid military strength in Japan's Yokohama Base, second after the strength of their main capital forces. This certainly would be one big problem if the AITO forces didn’t mobilize sufficient number of forces to equal the strength, but despite that fact the hopes were still high. And after the lost in Battle of Taiwan, surely they will strengthen their defenses by reinforcing the eastern capital access. And the word had spread that they even hired an Idol to increase the morale of their troops. The idol named Hirokawa Mai had been a popular symbol to the people of Neo and proved to be a charismatic symbol of hope. The young idol had been hired to be involved in military campaign across the NEO region to boost soldiers' loyalty and morale. The final battle would start soon enough, concentrated on the main capital of the rising sun nation, the forces were predicted to clash at Tokyo bay area and spread out to the entire coastline as the AITO forces would probably utilize the full access they had from conquering Taiwan. As the Organization's fleets were stationed on southern and eastern part of the Japanese region, The Atlantic Intercontinental Treaty organization were sure that they could win the second phase of the battle at eastern Asia. It was a logical assumption considering that they had direct access straight from Liberty tower to provide fresh amount of skillful soldiers direct from their military factory. On the other side of the story, the media had found one bizarre activity on Xing dessert as one story that came along with gossips about Solomon’s island incident. Apparently right on the eastern part of that vast inhabitable dessert there was one massive crater that shouldn’t have existed and a sign of a battle that had happened there. There was no information about what actually happened but the media suspected that it was a result of mass weapon test that was conducted secretly either by the Empire or the treaty organization. But so far, as the time passed, none of them had claimed to be responsible for that massive destruction of the nature. The mysteries were still shrouded by an invisible shadow, and it seemed it wouldn't go down easily as it also tagged along the stories of the battle between two giant superpowers. Now, the next phase would soon start, and everything would be settled on Japan. As for NEO's final frontier, and AITO's key to world domination. What would the result be? |
