GRYVENPUFSLY PLOT
Set fifty years after Lord Voldemort's downfall, Harry Potter is now 67 years old, as well as his two best friends, Ron & Hermione. Though Harry & Ron never went back to finish their last year at Hogwarts, they both managed to get themselves positions at the Auror's Department--thanks to Kingsly Shaklebolt being the prime Minister by that time. Harry & Ginny as we all know, ended up together and had three children. Their youngest, Lily is now 40 years old. And of course, there's also Ron & Hermione, who had three kids of their own. How long Harry lived, or if he still lives, no one knows (except perhaps our dear author, Miss Rowling).

Now, for old GVPS members who would like to base their new characters from the characters they used to have back in the old board, here's a clue. Kristina Krum is roughly around 69 years old. So from her age, you could start computing for your new characters' ages.

Rules
SECTION 1: USERNAME
  • Username Acceptability: A username could either be a member's real name or screen name as long as it doesn't contain too obscene or sexually related words.
  • Non-Cannon Usernames: No one is allowed to use any of the Harry Potter cannon names as username. There are, however, special cases when Gryvenpufsly decides to create an official account and chooses to give that account a cannon username.
  • Name Change: Members may change their usernames if and only if they have the gold to pay for it. A name change costs 500 galleons. Members may only change usernames once every three months.

SECTION 2: ROLEPLAYING CHARACTER

  • Multiple Characters: Gryvenpufsly now allows its members to have more than one Roleplaying characters. However, we strongly recommend to those new at text-based RPG to keep just one character on the first few months of their membership. This is to maximize character exposure and growth.
  • Primary Character: Everyone should set a primary character for his/her account. This rule is mandatory and is expected to be carried out by everyone.
  • Character Registration: All characters must be registered at the Department of Registration. Further details can be found there.

SECTION 3: SORTING PROCESS
  • Sorting: Only student characters need to be sorted. Sorting is done by taking this quiz. Your sorting results will be owled to you by a moderator. Once you have been sorted, you can now create your character at the Department of Registration.
  • Houses: Students can be sorted to one of the four houses: to Hufflepuff--the house of loyalty and justice, to Gryffindor-- the house or daring, nerve and chivalry, to Ravenclaw-- the house of wit and learning, or to Slytherin-- the house of ambition and cunning means.
  • House Change: The sorting hat's decision would is final and irrevocable. Appeals for house-change wouldn't be entertained so save your time and effort. Do NOT ask any moderators to change your house for you because that would be useless.

SECTION 4: GVPS TIMELINE
  • 5 Decades Later: Gryvenpufsly operates 50 years after the seventh book (Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows). Meaning, Harry Potter is 67 years old. Whether he is still alive or is already dead by natural cause, no one really knows. Gryvenpufsly asks its members to please not mess up with cannon characters.
  • The Dark Times: TDT operates in an entirely different time line. Its plot is set 10 years after the current plot. And to prevent mix-up, members are to create an entirely new character independent of their GVPS characters.

  • OOC Posting Length: In Gryvenpufsly, spamming is considered a crime. As a rule, every Out of Character posts must be at least 250 characters or letters. This is roughly three lines in the actual post and four lines in the reply/quick reply box.
  • RP Post Length: Roleplaying posts, on the other hand requires more length than OOC Posts. Ideally, an RP post must contain at least 750 letters, resulting to 9 or 10 lines. This counting must not include the OOC posts made within the RP posts.
  • RP Name Posting: When RPing, each members must put their roleplaying names (in bold) at the upper left of their posts. This is done for identification purposes and also to prevent confusion among characters.
  • Default Font/Color: Members are not to use any color expect the official color of the text in the board. The use of dynamic, flashy, hard on the eyes color must also be avoided.
  • Word Filters: Members are expected to behave themselves properly and promote a neutral if not friendly atmosphere within the board. Using sexually and morally explicit words is therefore forbidden, same goes for cursing and flaming fellow members.
  • Roleplay Professionalism: It is quite understandable that some characters clash in RP, however, taking this rift OOC is a matter that must be avoided. Everything done In Character must not be taken personally because an assault to a member's character does not mean an assault to the member himself.
  • Rift Settlement: Any misunderstanding must be settled before the moderators (or worse, the admins) decide that they had enough and result to hard decisions such as banning or expulsion from the board.
