Or Hitler! That way, Abaddon can have his socialism AND we finally have someone to think up some groovy new Volkswagon concept cars. Everybody wins.

There is a fundamental difference between socialism and fascism. Its frightening when people can't tell the difference between someone like Stalin, who worked for the good of his people, and someone as despicable as Hitler who should have been tortured for a week before allowed to bleed to death...

I don't see much difference between the two, except one was subject to endless propaganda.

Which one was subject to endless propaganda?

Stalin was working for the betterment of his country, a country where all people were supposed to be equal. Under Stalin, many african americans immigrated to the Soviet Union, where by law, you had to treat them equally, or else there were harsh punishments. Under Stalin, socialized health care was established, saving millions of lives a year. Under Stalin, the Soviet Union became a super power and became one of the production powerhouses of the world. Under Stalin, the Soviet Union caught up to the west in computer science, and they eventually exceeded the wests capabilities in rocketry shortly after Stalin's death.

What did Hitler do? He destroyed things. 20 millions Russians and 6 million Jews alone were killed by Hitler. His economic policies and ideology were bankrupt and probably would have collapsed even if the Nazi's had won the war.

Stalin was awesome, Hitler was an idiot and a sadist who killed people for no reason.

Stalin was a far worse killer of humanity than Hitler. His career was one long record of brutality and murder starting in the 1920's. His efforts to destroy private farms in Ukraine led to millions starving to death. Millions more died in various industrialization projects that were built using slave labor, labor that was worked to death in extreme climates.

Stalin instigated wars with Finland, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Romania, and Lithuania - all by 1940. All were bloody affairs with civilian and military alike being slaughtered. Prior to this he had fought a short war with Japan over border issues in north China. He lent major support to communist movements throughout the world, but most effectively in China. This led to constant conflict between the rebel communist groups and the legitimate, Nationalist, government of that country.

During WWII he encouraged tactics which led to the deaths of about 8,000,000 of his own soldiers. Additionally about 2,800,000 German/Hungarian/Romanian/Finnish troops were killed by his armies. His scorched earth policy meant starvation for millions of his own people overrun by the German invasion. Stalin's policies meant to mercy to prisoners and huge numbers died after being taken captive during the war. Perhaps 30,000,000 persons of various nations died because of Stalin just during WWII.

Following WWII, Stalin instigated a policy of terror on the German people. This led to about 2,000,000 German civilians being murdered outright and thousands more commiting suicide. Additionally Stalin enforced brutal police states on all the peoples of eastern Europe which he overran with his armies. Tens of thousands died in these takeovers. German POWs were kept in horrible conditions for as long as ten years after the war, leading to the deaths of at least 1,000,000.

As the war in Europe wound down in 1945, he launched an unprovoked war with Japan, killing many tens of thousands of Japanese troops and capturing many others that were brutally treating in POW camps. Arms captured from the Japanese were then turned over to Stalin's communist allies among the Chinese people.

These Chinese, thus well armed, quickly routed the legitimate government forces in that country and placed a terrorist criminal gang in charge, led by Mao. Mao then used his Stalin backed power to instigate his own slaughter of the Chinese, leading to perhaps 30,000,000 dead from all causes.

Stalin also armed the north Koreans and pressed them into a war with the western nations. This led to the deaths of perhaps 1,000,000 Koreans, 50,000 Americans, and 100,000 or so Chinese.

Meanwhile in the USSR, Stalin's concentration camps were crammed with millions of inmates, who died by the thousands from overwork, exhaustion, starvation, scurvy, shooting, beatings, and disease.

Compared to Stalin, Hitler was an amatuer at murder and slaughter. However, by winning WWII, Stalin has been largely ignored in the history books as the astonishingly prolific killer that he was.

(Copied for laziness, but that is the opinion I've encountered over the years.)

I was referring to Hitler. He is still decribed as "The Most Evil Man In History", but that is all just a medial spin. In Mein Kampf, he stated that he originally planned to deport Jews Eastward. It was Hitler's associates who urged their extermination.

There' sufficient evidence to disprove the false six million figure (Leuchter Report, many doctored images). Many claim the number to be around 300,000. The imagination some of these "Holocaust Survivors" have is truly disturbing. My eighth-grade English teacher (Jew; very touchy about the Holocaust) said "they had giant barbeque grills with iron racks in which they would burn people alive over hot coals". Nowhere have I seen this written or even mentioned. "Gas chambers" were not architecturally designed to function as such; Using these in the manner they intended could allow gas to escape and kill everyone in the surrounding area.

Auschwitz used to read "Four Million Jews Died Here", now the plaque states 1.5 million. Yet, the six million figure is still accepted? Must not of had maths back then.

I remember watching TV a few years ago - it was about debunking the Roswell conspiracy theory. Various people were taken to an isolated place to witness subtle events. Months later, each recalled the event as something extraordinarily different. So the author suggested, that over a period of sixty years, one would eventually grow to believe that seeing a disfigured corpse in the midst of a crashed plane would be an alien and a crashed UFO. Now imagine witnessing this as a child. Most "Holocaust Survivors" today are probably at least 80 years old, which means they were 10-20 years at the time. Being taken to a concentration camp and witnessing the cremation of those already dead - seeing something like that, in his/her mind, could've resulted in a wrong conclusion, and lead the child to believe it was used to delibertely kill people. This is how a child thinks. Many instances of these people's stories directly contradict with the policies at the time, or they are downright pulled-out-of-their-ass ridiculous.

The whole thing is a well-manufactured hoax. There has been worse throughout history, but where are they to cry "anti-semitism!" when you try to provide factual evidence about their history?

Did you write that thing on Stalin? You mentioned copying it.

First off, many of those events are myths.

First, the "Ukrainian Famine" was more like a food shortage. One US journalist went to Ukraine to report on it, and found food in the local markets and people weren't starving and dying in the streets like other reports said. Some of the first reports were created by none other than Hitler. The death toll in Ukraine was greatly exaggerated.

Second, collectivization was partially a success. Unfortunately, there were these rich peasants called kulaks. They withheld food to try to raise prices. Many people died because of the shortage. When the Soviet government realized what was wrong, the kulaks got their just deserves, and things quickly returned to normalcy. People had plenty of food again. His forced industrialization programs rapidly created heavy industry in the country. This was necessary for the Soviet victory in the Great Patriotic War. Without this, Hitler would have defeated them in the war, and many, many, more people would have died. Without the Soviet Union, the allies would have lost.

Hitler was responsible for instigating wars in surrounding areas. Remember how he made it look like Poland attacked Germany, so they could invade? Stalin eventually liberated the area.

The number of people in died in World War 2 is all Hitler's fault. Even if some soviet strategies failed, it wasn't there fault they died, its Germany's fault. Also, remember that the Soviets were the first to reach Berlin, surely they were doing something right. Stalin was also much more active in plans for the war than either Churchill or Roosevelt. Stalin's impact on the war was a positive one. He also had a previous military record in the Revolution (although far less significant than Trotsky's).

Please link to your source on the murder of 2 million German civilians after the war.

The war in Japan was not unprovoked. They had fought a war with them earlier in the late 30s. The Soviets were also at war with the Japanese, to show their solidarity with the United States. Technically the war with Japan has never ended, both sides still disputing territory, because a peace treaty was never signed.

Mao was a magnificent leader, unfortunately he had to work with a buffoon named Khrushchev. Khrushchev's policy of retracting support for China during the Great Leap Forward was catastrophic. Mao and Stalin openly disagreed, but both helped with the rapid industrialization of their country.

There was a famine in China. It was solved though, the crisis was ending after a few years. India, a capitalist nation, was in a state of almost constant famine and had almost no health care for almost the entirety of the 20th century, despite both countries being similar in development before WWII, clearly Mao and company were doing something right. Stalin's support for Mao was one of the smartest moves in history. If that didn't happen, then there may still be a monarchy today in China. China would not be a world power today.

So overall, Stalin killed relatively few people. His policies had very positive impacts on the world, but he did make some mistakes (some rather bad), which Mao was confident in pointing out without fear.

Stalin was even known to have political discussion with many party members, in which he was described to be quite tolerant. He also very readily allowed people back in the party. Molotov was once asked who was more harsh, Lenin or Stalin, and he answered that it was Lenin, and that Lenin had even scolded Stalin for liberalism and harshness. Stalin helped uphold the ideals of communism and helped pave the way for the eventual establishment of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. Unfortunately, Khrushchev had to mess everything up.

On the holocaust, it doesn't matter the number. Millions died. The number of people who went missing is enough to prove that. The details don't matter. I do think holocaust denial laws though are horrible ideas.

I didn't write the...Whoa, Deja Vu.

Anyway, the author of the response just parroted the opinions I've heard before, I figured a few things would be biased, or myth. There is no mention of Stalin, Lenin, or any other Communist leaders besides Castro in my high-school history textbooks. Hitler is slandered throughout, with no mention at all of the other 'holocausts' that killed millions. I don't worship the ground he walks on, but I don't think he necessarily did anything out of the ordinary (in terms of war) to be dubbed the entity of evil. Regardless of the number, he wasn't a sadist who tortured people, nor was he an autistic, homosexual, flatulent, sexual deviant with a God-complex who planned to conquer Earth. These are outright lies used to make people despise him.

seems to be an accepted norm in today's society, especially with Craigslist's "casual encounters" section.
Speak of the devil.

http://www.wqad.com/news/wqad-craigslist-prostitution-crackdown-030609,0,6082493.story

The anchor on MSNBC goes on to say that after repeated complaints to take it down, or at least to have it monitored, it stays untouched. Pimps use it to sell minors, for fucks sake! That should be reason alone to take it down! It doesn't make sense - Craigslist makes NO profit from personals, only from job-listings from major metropolitan cities. And they still won't do anything about this...It makes me sick.

Meanwhile you have eBay making a big deal because someone was offended at the sight of an animated yellow star.

Common sense is dead.

Nazism is the most fucked up ideology to have ever existed, even worse than capitalist ideologies. Its supports the cleansing of ethnic groups and a theocracy. Hitler was a mass murderer. Think of how many lives were ended in World War 2! I'm not saying that the imperialists in World War 1 were any less bad, all of these people were despicable and fought for profits at the expense of the lives of their citizens who trusted them. Hitler was a terrible, insane, maniac who deserved far more than death. There was no justifiable reason for the war.
