Unpacking, what a bore, Margaret thought with disdain. The first day at Pennington should be more exciting than simply removing items from her trunks and placing them in the appropriate shelf she thought. It hardly seemed fitting that the first day of this year should be so tedious, but what else was there to do? Margaret dropped to her bed and sighed, she kicked her open trunk with the toe of her boot, which she had purchased from the newest London boutique the day before heading off to begin her new school year at Pennington. She was tired and bored and wanted something or someone to entertain her, perhaps there would be new girls sharing her room this year that would be mildly amusing? Margaret listened as footsteps approached the door to her room, hoping for a little excitement to lessen the dullness of unpacking. |

Yulia was not impressed with some of the people in this school thus far. It seemed that so many people had made such a poor impression, and she was not at all enthusiastic about having to share quarters with some of them. She would have rather been on a floor with people that were much more to her standards, rather than being on the floor with Japanese savages and a girl with no decorum. As she stepped into the hall, she noticed a young woman unpacking her clothing. A simple look at her seemed to reveal the fact that she was from noble, or at the very least, wealthy origins. This could perhaps be someone that Yulia could stand. "Good day," Yulia greeted the thin brunette as she moved to her bed. |

“Greetings,” Margaret replied cheerfully as she leaned forward to unsnap the metal links that held one of her many trunks closed and pushed the lid up, revealing the silk and lace that made up the clothes that she had brought to school with her. She pulled a silky lavender dress and held it up, inspecting it thoughtfully, then turning her gaze to the newcomer slowly. The girl was curvy, that was for sure. Margaret could feel the slightest bit of jealousy at the stylishness of the girl’s full figure. She smiled, “How do you do? Are you enjoying the fine weather outside as much I am? It is simply divine,” she said. Margaret hoped that she would be talkative; it would be such waste for such a beautiful girl to not be socially adept too. |

"It truly is. I just came from outside - the day is quite lovely, particularly for an August one." Yulia agreed. Her feelings about the girl's wealthy background had been solidified. She spoke well, and had the breeding of a proper socialite at least. Her choice of words added to that, as well as her accent. This was one that Yulia was sure that she could easily deal with. This one seemed to be sociable enough, but she wasn't foolish and outspoken like some of the others. She wasn't Japanese, and her skintone was certainly acceptable, not to mention her propriety. It was a breath of fresh air after some of the others that she had to deal with. |
