Annie wasn't sure what to think about such a dinner at all. She had never been to a meal of its accord as splendorous as it was. She was used to getting leftovers or whatever was available for dinner. They were still fairly poor at home and food wasn't a big deal to them as it should be. So she was excited about the nice food there. Though she was really nervous about the fact that she probably had never even actually tried any of the things that were being served there. She already felt out of place from the basic meeting before. What could be worse if she made a mess of her dinner? She didn't know but she didn't exactly want to find out. Annie had no idea what to do about so called ettiquet with this meal either and hoped she wouldn't be the only fool trying to eat fancy foods when she never had before. Perhaps the Russian or the Japanese might have the same trouble? She could only hope so, feeling extremely nervous already. Annie had no idea where to sit or if there was a certain order. Not only that but she still felt weird with her dress too. She hated wearing fancier gowns and this was one of the few she possessed. It was very out of season and she supposed she had to get used to the insults that would come with it. She gulped wearily, looking around curiously at the wondrous dining hall. The whole hall was probably bigger than her entire house. She was entranced by the wonder of the colors around her and the size of the table. At least a few girls were already there. She would have to ask what to do and if they were supposed to sit anywhere. Annie certainly didn't want to make too much of a fool her first real dinner away from home. Besides what would the harm be in talking to her new friends? She finally wandered over and cleared her throat, watching the other girls talk amongst themselves. "Hello? Is there...are we supposed to sit anywhere? I have to apologize ahead of time...I don't think I've ever been to a fancy dinner before." She quickly admitted, hoping she wouldn't be shunned for such an admission. Annie was sure all these girls had been to many a beautiful dinner far more fancy than this one. And her saying so automatically obtained her class. But why did it even bother her? |
