Labor or Coalition? (Australian Politics)

The major battle in mainstream politics, the two major 'parties' Labor or the Coalition?

Would you rather be in a country run by Ms. Gillard, or the budgie-smuggling wearing Mr. Abbott?

Are you left-wing or right wing?

Who would you rather run the major parties?

So many questions, what do you think?

I actually know more about American politics than Australian.

I think Coalition (I thought it was called National?) is the closest we have to Republicans, so that's who I'd support.

The National party is a part of the 'Coalition' hence the name 'Coalition' its a mix of liberal, liberal nationals, nationals etc.

Actually, I'm going to be taking a course on Australian politics next term, so I'll be more qualified to comment later.

If I were fifty and my colleague was fifteen, I would look UP to her. :O

Hey, as smart as she may be at 15, you can't deny that at 50, you WILL have more experience at politics.

I wouldn't necessarily look up to her political ability; I would look up to her political potential and guts.

They look down on me because they believe i have been dragged along by my mother (who is also in the party, and was very active when I was little [I started going to politics stuff when i was about... 4], hence my interest in politics). And yes, it does take guts to join when I'm so young, even my mother, who is 37 this year is considered 'young'.

Well, I suppose there is a certain appeal in attending parties for a living . . .

no there isnt. im an anti-social geek who was jumping for joy when my mother informed me im not allowed to go out for a month minus school, work and cadets, and if billy can sweettalk my mother, labor meetings (my mother isnt that active anymore). thats the one downside for me about beoming a politician. all the functions i would have to go to.

Topic moved to Discussion, as no debate was taking place. (Entirely due to the lack of political knowledge of most of the members of the forum, mind you. Not GeeksFTW's fault.)

To those of you who are wondering where this topic came from, it was originally in the debating section, which can be accessed by joining the Debating Club group.
