What do you think about these books? Do you like them?
Personally, I adore them. :D
When I come, the greatest enemy shall be defeated and shall lay motionless on the battlefield, defeated not by strength, but by wits.

I have to say, I'm not a big fan. I think the best thing about them is their publicity.

I must revise that heinously inaccurate post.

I have no problem with the Harry Potter books, and I rather enjoy them, however, I know many series/books that are much better. So, comparatively speaking for me, they're good, but not great. My perception of them is somewhat tainted by their publicity, because, in my opinion, the masses generally don't like the same things as me. I would probably like them more if I had found them without the aid of excessive publicity.

GAHHH SIRIUSLY?? A HP THREAD!

*Drools*

I'm in LOVE with the books, as over time will become EXTREMELY apparent. I didn't like the epilogue. too many unanswered questions. Wayy too many.

I don't agree with this comment.

"Amusing" is not the right word for them. Particularly around the end, they are quite serious and emotional, and Rowling often portrays it well.

Though around the end, there were WAY too many commas. Seriously, she had paragraph-long sentences.

The thing with the commas I did not understand. What difference does it make?

Well, a comma separates clauses, which are like sub-sentences. She should have changed some clauses into sentences, and perhaps added a semicolon or two. In its current state, it was a bit of a chore to read.

I would never look at it from such a point of view. :P

There's more to good writing than Good vs Evil. ;)

course there is. every aspect of life is more than just good and evil, right and wrong, light and dark. but really? tad melodramatic, a few gramatical errors doesnt make something a 'chore' a chore would be say, editing my stories. you can ask ms paper-clip (one of my friends) about how annoying it is to edit my work. and thats merely a few pages at best. and paragraph long sentences? that aint so hard to do. i would know.

Really Long Sentences can produce a dramatic effect, and in Deathly Hallows, they often did.

The problem was overkill.
