Rachel looked up as the door opened after a few minutes of waiting in silence, and was glad to see Finn, though he was obviously having a rough time of it. She shifted slightly, a small smile appearing on her face; she was hear to listen to him and attempt to cheer him up, and she had brought just the thing that would help her do that.

"Hi", she said meekly, extending the small basket to him. "I brought you some of my famous sugar cookies. Can I come in?"

Finn sniffed a little, nodding as he let her in. "Thanks for coming, Rach," he said, his voice sullen and lifeless, though appreciative. Even Finn noticed the quick change of his moods now. It was like his entire spirit was broken, like he had no motivation to do anything anymore. He took the basket from her and put it on top of his cluttered study table. Finn looked back at Rachel, embarrassed at his entire situation.

Without warning, he walked up to Rachel and broke down in her arms, tears streaming down his face.

"It's nothing, I mean...you asked me to", she replied, following him into the room slowly, closing the door over behind her. She watched him for a moment, feeling extremely sad to see him like this; he looked so lost and helpless, and she wasn't used to seeing him like this. He was usually bursting with energy, but now all of that energy seemed drained from him completely. She remained silent, feeling a little awkward when he didn't say anything; maybe she shouldn't have came after all.

And then he broke down in her arms unexpectedly. Rachel held him, and gently patted his back.

"It's ok...", she said, her tone hushed and soothing.

It took him a while to calm down, but he did, eventually. He felt embarrassed, having lost all sense of composure in front of Rachel. He felt weak being vulnerable in front of her, but how could he not be? He was just thankful that it was her who was there. It was Rachel anyways, someone who had always had his best interest at heart. He sat down at the foot of his bed, silently, wiping his tear-filled eyes with his sleeve. He looked up at Rachel, saying the only thing he could.

"Sorry..."

Rachel sighed quietly, taking a seat beside him on the edge of the bed.

"You don't need to apologise Finn...you did nothing wrong", she reassured him; she felt quite herself begin to feel really angry towards both Quinn and Puck for doing this to him, although she could understand why Quinn decided to lie, sort of; he was a lot to lose. "If you need to talk about it, I'm here. I want to help."

Finn turned to Rachel who was now seated beside him.

"I mean, I'm sorry. For you know..." Finn didn't know what he wanted to say. He wanted to apologize to Rachel for so many things: for leading her on, for not always being with her, especially when it came to glee club decisions, even for choosing to be with Quinn instead of her. Rachel would never have pulled something like this with Finn. But he couldn't say that to her. She would just feel like she's being used as a rebound girl. Finn frowned at the though. "...for dumping this all on you. Thanks for wanting to help, but...I don't even know what to do..."

His eyes shifted back to the wooden floors, his fingers fiddling with one another.

Rachel watched him, listening to what he was trying to say; it seemed like he had a lot he needed to get off his chest. Waiting until he was done talking, she spoke up.

"You mean...about Quinn?", she said, more of a statement than a question. She looked at the floor for a minute, thinking, then she looked back to him. "What do you think you should do about it?"

Finn wasn't able to answer her at once, though he already knew what he was going to do. He just couldn't stand being anywhere near either of them. Seeing them would just remind Finn of all of the betrayal and all of the lies. And if he wanted to eventually forgive them, though he highly doubted if it was possible, he'd have to distance himself from them first.

"Um, well... I'm quitting Glee."

Rachel looked up at him, shocked; he was quitting Glee? After all of the effort he had applied? After everything they had been through?

"You can't quit, Finn", she said, almost pleading with him. "We're Co-Captains...we need you. The team needs you. I need you!"

She blushed, but maintained her composure and continued.

"You can't avoid them forever, and leaving Glee will only make you feel worse than you already do, Finn. Don't quit because of them...you're better than them if you stay."

Finn jolted up his gaze from the floor to her when she said that she needed him. He looked at her pleading eyes, making it hard for Finn to resist. But he had already made up his mind.

"There are many other people who can Co-Captain with you, Rach. Plus, there are lots of new members. You don't need to worry about being short on people," he excused, trying to make it sound like he didn't really mind leaving glee club all that much, even though it was one of the hardest decisions he had to make. "And besides, if I don't quit, we'd just make things awkward. The club doesn't need that."
