Rachel sat in her bedroom clutching a care bear to her chest, still feeling a little blue about Finn's immediate exit during their Disney duet rehearsal in the auditorium. It was funny how such a small incident could have such a dramatic effect on her mood; she couldn't eat, she could barely concentrate; she found herself singing love ballads more often, and watching musicals over and over again. Then again, everything about Rachel was dramatic, and this was nothing new; at least her dads hadn't noticed anything unusual as of yet.

Part of her was dreading Glee practice tomorrow, whilst another part of her was longing for the excuse to sing with Finn again. They had chemistry; both musical and emotional. Why did nothing ever run smoothly for her? Whenever she wanted something so bad, she really had to work to get it, and although this didn't bother her, she couldn't help but remain slightly frustrated that it never happened. Her efforts were futile. Finn had his reputation to up-hold; his perfect, if slightly tone deaf, girlfriend. Why would he give that up for someone like her? Everyone hated her; she was at the bottom of the social ladder. Just the little girl who had dreams of climbing to the top, but never even made it halfway.

Clutching her suitcase in one hand and her iPod Touch in the other, Lorelai carefully inched her way up the stairs and stood outside of Rachel's bedroom door. Everything was so pretty here, and her dads were probably one of the nicest people she had ever met. Once she had arrived at the Berry household they immediately welcomed her with open arms, offering her lemonade and a plate of cookies. She sat and chatted with them for a while before Leroy - the tall, more feminine of the two - suggested Lorelai go up to visit Rachel. She was sure Rachel would be just as nice as her fathers, if not more.

"Rachel?" She called, her accent thick in her voice, as she knocked on the door.

Rachel was sitting at her desk, uploading a new video to her MySpace blog. She had refused to leave her room for the best part of today, still fuming about her dads' decision to take in a foreign exchange student. They had only consulted her about it a few days ago, and now this was happening all too fast. She had heard their voices downstairs, and for some reason all she could feel was annoyance; she would never admit to being jealous, but she had been an only child, and she liked having her parents' attention all to herself. Why did someone else have to come in and ruin that?

Hearing a faint knock on the door, and the girl's thick accent as she called on her, Rachel supressed a huff and closed the laptop, deciding she couldn't ignore her any longer. She might have been jealous, but she was by no means rude. Getting to her feet, she headed to the door, opening it only a fraction or so, looking at the girl.

"May I help you?", she asked, a bitter undertone in her voice that she had tried but failed to keep at bay.

Rachel nervously set out some refreshments on the dining room table, humming along to a song that had been playing on the radio earlier, that was now stuck in her head. She eyed the wine rack momentarily; some of those bottles were worth a fortune, and she knew that her dad's might literally kill her if someone had somehow managed to drink them while they were gone. She bit her lip and set out a few wine coolers and a bottle of vodka she had found in one of the cupboards. Just because she was slightly more responsible than her peers didn't mean she wasn't out to have a good time and experiment. She took one of the wine coolers and sat down in one of the chairs, waiting for the others to arrive and the sleepover to begin. She hoped to keep things a little more low-key than Noah's party had been; her house was like a palace and she intended to keep it that way.

Finn removed his seatbelt and rushed on to Quinn's side to open the door for her. He grabbed her hand, telling her that he'd get their stuff later on. He looked around and was pretty surprised at Rachel's house. He had been here before, but somehow, something about it seem to have changed. No doubt Rachel wanted to impress the others so she fixed up. Finn shrugged it off, smiling happily as he and Quinn stepped up to the front door and knocked.

Hearing the door, Rachel adjusted her eye-patch and got to her feet gracefully as she went to answer to her first guests. Pausing for a moment at the door, she breathed a short sigh; well, here goes nothing.

Opening the door, she smiled her brightest smile at Finn and Quinn.

"Hi, I'm so glad you could both make it ... please, come in", she said, ushering them both inside. She had to admit, she was quite surprised that Quinn had accepted the invitation, considering their animosity at school and the fiasco over Finn. However, she decided to put it aside for tonight.

The moment Rachel opened the door, Finn used all the strength he could muster to make sure he didn't burst out laughing. He couldn't believe that she was still wearing an eye-patch. Either she was trying out to be Captain Hook for a play or for certain there was something up with her. Finn bit his lip, before opening his mouth, making sure that he didn't snicker or snort as he did.

"Thanks for having us over, Rach! Are we early?" Finn asked, taking a peep into the hallway before Rachel guided them in. "So, what's the plan tonight?"
