How's this look? I'm gonna make a new web design based on ripped paper. How's this look for a logo?

First of all, the paper needs some texture to it. A tiny bit of noise can get the actual paper texture, but having a crumpled effect works well. There's a good tutorial on it for photoshop, I think it's possible to do on GIMP: http://psd.tutsplus.com/tutorials/tutorials-effects/quick-tip-create-a-realistic-paper-texture-in-5-minutes/ And the ripped part of the paper looks too defined. When you rip a piece of paper, it's a lot more jagged, but they're really small jagged bits. You also need to rip the paper in layers if that makes sense. Like, having several layers of ripped-ness in different opacities. Oh, and what 005 said. |

It's hard to say without seeing it in context, but I think the splatters are a bit too dominant, and it would be nice to see some more texture in there. |

The splatters make the text harder to read. If you're going with a ripped paper look then you might want to change the glossy globe to a doodled globe look. The font might also need to be changed to a handwritten font. I think you should get rid of the splatters but that's just my opinion. I think it would look more unified if you made those changes. |

I think you should keep the colors you have, Have the paint splatters a little darker where it hasn't hit the text. And ditch the globe. |
