The banner I made for the forum I'm working on to go with my site (Which is still under construction :P), Jagged Graphics. The globe was made by Mr 005 because It's an effect in Photoshop that I really didn't want to do in gimp, but he wanted to do :)

EDIT, newer version:

The overall look is not bad, i like the logo, but the text is just horrible.
First i don't like that you have 3 fonts, always stick with 1 or 2. I really like the font on the globe, maybe you could use that in the banner too. The other ones i really don't like (especially the one to the right), but that's just my opinion. The text needs more gloss or other stuff too. The whole banner also needs some more ... stuff ;)

wth?

I do not like the font on the right, either.
Globe looks cool, but I don't really know how that goes along with Jagged Graphics :O.
Jagged Graphics font makes sense. :D

The globe is kind of blurry, and the gloss in the background doesn't look like gloss at all. Also, comical fonts are kind of like putting a big sticker on your banner that says "we are n00bs."

True, but the header should usually be the most attractive part of a graphics site. One look at it and there person decides whether or not your site is any good. So if you go for simple, but come out plain, that can be a costly mistake.

It's better, but as a general rule don't use sans on professional headers. Also, the edges of the banner need AA.

Coding isn't a matter of can or can't, it's a matter of learning the languages you need. For a website you're going to need to know HTML for sure, and you'll probably need to learn CSS and Javascript too. If you want to make something like comments, or a forum, and you're not using something premade like Proboards ore Zetaboards, you'll need to learn a server-side language like PHP or CGI.

The easiest way to do this is just like learning to make graphics, look for tutorials online.

I'm using Proboards for the forum, and just a domain for everything else. I know HTML and CSS well, and a little bit of Java, haven;t really gotten into it that much :P

W3schools is ftw :P

Well for proboards it's completely different, proboards uses header and footer codes, so most of the coding you're going to do will end up being advanced Javascript "hacks" to edit the rest of the forum.

I code the website by myself, but for proboards, I usually use premade code, since I'm not great with Java :P

Yeah, most people use code databases for proboards since the codes are so impractical. And just for future reference, Java and Javascript are two very different things.

I know, I just get too lazy to type them out separately. Most people don;t really know the difference, so I'm usually safe with saying Java :P

Your latest one is much better. Although, might I suggest using the colors of your Avatar if that is going to be your official logo. It's up to you though. I just think having your banner and logo match well, would be better.

I don't like how the text at the bottom is on different lines. I see you are trying to make it follow a path but I feel like that doesn't fit with the sleek look of the banner.

I Like It Its Just That The Text That You Used For The Links Is Dosent Go With The Style Your Going For.
But Nice Text For The Globe And Great Banner!

The motto/slogan text is bad, It's too big and the font & positioning need to go away.
The curve at the top would look better if it matched the curve of the globe, e.g. perfect circle curve, and also, the gloss doesn't look very good.

Oh yea and the border needs AAing
