what does everybody think is the best way to render hair? I've seen some renders with small strands of hair that have been cut out and look really natural. Is the eraser and a layer mask the easiest and best way?

Thanks

Here's a tutorial that might help you out. http://6v8.gamboni.org/Complex-Shape-Extraction-with-Gimp.html This technique would work better than trying to go in and erase the background.
