OOC: ill skip the intro if you don't mind. IC: "Egypt wishes to express interest in increasing its economic links with Armenia, we have several proposals to go about doing this. We will of course we encouraging Egyptian businesses to set up shop in Armenia, Egyptian businesses major in the Construction, Telecommunications (Internet ect), Railways, Air Transport and Finance industries, all of these we believe will greatly assist Armenia in its development, particularly in breaking the many monopolies that plague your economy and harm growth. Of course it would assist the investment if Armenia reduced, or even eliminated tariffs between our two countries, a move the Egyptian government is willing to echo if done. What is your opinion on this?" |

The present government is opposed to tariffs in general, and is fully willing to eliminate the tariffs on Egyptian goods. This wouldn't be a controversy in our country - we doubt very many Armenian businesses will be harmed by imports from Egypt. |

"That is good news, and in return Egypt will also eliminate tariffs for products coming from Armenia, he are particularly interested in the importing of Armenian agricultural products. While remaining on the subject of Trade, we have little doubt Armenia is suffering due to the recent war in Iran, as Iran is one of Armenia's main trading partners and a source for oil needed by Armenia. Egypt is willing to sell part of its oil surplus, with a total of 100,000,000 barrels a year being sold to Armenia (or 61% of Armenia's total oil imports) in what we hope will cover the oil shortfall created by the war in Iran." |

That is a very generous offer, and one we would gladly accept. However, shipments of Egyptian oil would have to pass through Turkey, which maintains an economic blockade against our country. We would prefer if Egypt were to apply diplomatic pressure to Turkey (and Azerbaijan) to end this blockade which despite our best efforts has in truth strangled the life out of the Armenian economy and impovershed our country. Our plan to reduce our independence on energy imports is to utilize underground coal gasification in our undeveloped coal reserves. We hope to secure Russian aid in this endeavor. |

Armenia expresses our gratitude for Egypt's courageous stance on the Turkish-Azerbaijani blockade. We would like to invite Egypt into the Eurasian Economic Community, a mutual economic development forum and free trade zone that heretofore was restricted to CIS members, but which we believe Egypt could become a valued member of, if that would be acceptable. |

We have formally invited Egypt to join the EEC. Have we come to an agreement on trade and technology sharing [SSIC: and Armenian military advisors]? If so, I propose we move towards crafting such a treaty of amity between our two great nations. |
