Ugh, it's been raining constantly for what seems like the last 3 weeks and now they are talking about frost some time this week! >.< That's going to be GREAT for the garden! ^o)

Our weather is the same way. For a few days it stopped raining it was almost 90, then it rained again yesterday. Today the temperature was 46 when I woke up at 7, I think it's up to 58 now.

It finally quit raining. Rained ALL day and nite on Sunday...a slow steady couple inches. They said frost for here too, but I don't think it will happen here. Maybe higher up. It's about 39 right now at 5:30 am. I thought about covering the tomatoes last nite, but decided to risk it. I've only got the 4 plants, and could easily replace them if frost did get em. I think they'll be fine.

Thankfully, no frost! All the old folks around here keep claiming we always have a frost in June too. May I just ask when the crap these people think we're supposed to plant? We've been up here for 2 years now, there have been no frosts in June before now lol.

Frost in June in the south??? I haven't seen that either. There was that hard freeze in late April that put a hit on everything 2 yrs ago. Followed immediately by the drought which made for very unhappy gardens from then on.

A thing I heard when I moved down here were "plant" winters. Whatever was in bloom during a late frost was called the "whatever" winter. That April freeze was "dogwood winter". When they warned this lastest frost, it would have been "blackberry winter" which I've seen once before.

Upnorth, plants know better than to emerge too early. They keep their heads low until spring really gets there. Frost in June is so possible. Heck, my last year there, it SNOWED on June 1st! Here, it's so up and down, it's a wonder plants (or gardeners) have a clue what to do.

Oh lord, we've been hearing about Dogwood winter, Blackberry winter, etc. I think it's a mountain thing, I'd never heard of it before we ended up here.

I did see snow in August once down in Burlington

With all the rains you have been having has the drought eased? Has that lake that was going dry filling up? I curse the rain sometimes but it is better then a drought. Shadows

Oh I hope so. The creeks and rivers look good now. I saw anglers down by Horse Creek so I think there's trout in it again. It was nearly dry last year.

The bottom of my yard is real soggy from all the rain we got this weekend. I cut the grass yesterday and couldn't do those areas. The puddles were too deep. It tends to run down from up higher when we get that much and flood a couple spots in my yard. One spot is actually my "driveway". I don't really have a driveway. I just drive on the grass. If I ever get around to putting in a driveway, I'll need a culvert or something to handle the occasionally run-off.

I think we're fine now- or if not, less than an inch under.
