Yeah, i think more people own Wii's than 360's and super smash is just the game to get for every wii owner out there. I wouldn't be suprised if it outsold Halo 3. Plus, Brawl might turn out to be really good and not lose sales like halo 3 did when people realized it wasnt that great. |

I do believe that Halo sold 4.82 million units last year; that's a considerable back-set for even a game like SSBB to catch up too. |

According to Wikipedia Smash Bros. Melee has sold over 6 million copies since it has been released So by the end of the Wii's life span the two games should be very close. Edited by CoNnOr, Jan 19 2008, 10:50 PM.

I'm actually going to say no for this reason... the core 360 fanbase is made up of med-hardcore gamers who wouldn't even think twice about halo 3 because it's like the holy grail in a sense. The core wii fanbase however is not hardcore gamers, it's casual gamers. It's the people who buy things like carnival games and mario party 8 and enjoy it. The majority of these people will not jump right away (or ever) at smash bros because it's not a casual game. Most of the casual market does not keep track of games, so unless nintendo does tons of advertising, they won't even know the realese date. anyways does anyone get the jist of what I'm saying? in a nutshell... Hardcore game + hardcore platform = sales Hardcore game + casual system = not a lot of sales but when you're thinking of this you can't think of yourselves because probably none of us here fit into the casual gamer persona. I mean, we're posting on a forum about video games.... |

Yeah but if you think of maybe really like gamers starting to become hardcore. Like hey i'll get my first game system cus everybody wubs da wii. Yay Mario party 8. Maybe i'll get more into this. What type of game should I buy next? Oh what's this game everyone seems to like... If you don't think that will happen, a bit, then i'd say your wrong. Not to mention the fact that the more people who have wii the more chance someone will end up getting it. They're not solid facts, like they won't show up in someone's data, but i think they're real x-factors that can make the wii completely dominant. And what makes SSBB so hard? C-stick; B up, B down, B side, move. I think as this game gains popularity and public recognition, it'll only gain more popularity and recognition. A snowball effect if you will. |

Commie it's probably the same for all those hardcore smash fans, and there is A LOT of them. Not to mention the put in 4 different control schemes to please the hard core and casual gamers. casual gamers like to go with the flow so if they hear Smash is good they might be tempted to buy it since its so popular. It might take a while for casual gamers to get smash bros but the hardcore crowd alone should give the game outstanding sales. |
