So who here has read any of the Inheritance Trilogy out so far (Eragon, and Eldest)?

When do you think the 3rd book will finally be released? What has it been 2, 3 years now?

i sometimes wonder if Christopher Paolini is even writing the third book.....

i liked the first two a lot, not as much as say, lord of the rings, but i do plan to get the third book unless it comes out when i'm like 30.

Yeah. The thing is it's been so long i feel kinda out of touch with the series. All I have to say is that after so long it had better be hella long, and hella good. And I REALLY hope he's not working on turning the second book into a movie instead of writing the third one. I didn't see the first movie but when it got a PG rating I knew it wouldn't do the series justice. The books should ALWAYS come first. But I wonder if the 3rd book will come out and not many people will notice for a while as they've given up on expecting the 3rd book to actually come out.

I did see the movie, it was such a short movie which made no sense since the book was so long. I think the second movie has more potential if they decide to make it....

but i'm not giving up on the third book, and i know most Inheritance fans are into it enough to wait.....

I would think this book would be over 1,000 pages, since he's taking like 2 - 3 times longer to write this than he did Eldest, which was rather lengthy. Personally I just really hope it doesn't have some crappy ambiguous ending.

thats what happens with most of the fantasy series though... I can't really see any ending other than Eregon kills Galbatorix and they all live happily ever after. Unless Eregon dies or somthing, i can see that happening.

1,000 pages? I doubt it will be that long, maybe 800-850 though

Who says that Eragon killing Galbatorix is the end of the story?

I can see Eragon killing Galbatorix and then like Murtag send assassins after him and stuff and wants to take his dragon ect, ect, and he has to escape/resist.

that would be cool, but wouldn't Murtogh turn to Eragon's side once Galbatorix is dead? I don't remeber very well but wasn't Murtogh reluctant to obey Galbatorix?
