Eh doesn't afraid of anything!

Hey there forum-goers! It's MeoW_ and today I will be bringing you a review of a very obscure RTS.

Armies Of Exigo
Spoiler: click to toggle

Overview:
AoE is a dime a dozen RTS, with classic 'build units and throw em' at each other' gameplay. It was inspired by Blizzard's legendary fantasy RTS, Warcraft 3, and boy do the "inspired" parts show. The game has a leveling system, where units kill more units to gain levels and get access to new abilities. The races are practically the same with races like, The Empire (The Human Alliance), The Beastmen (Orcs), and lastly, The Fallen (Undead, probably the most obvious copy from WC3). However there is one thing that makes AoE stand out from the crowd, and that is the unique 'Underground System' which adds a whole new level to gameplay (literally). Having to fight on the surface and the underground gives it a unique feel as, from what I know, this hasn't been done yet.

Plot:
I could just copy+paste the entire plot for WC3 right here since they're practically identical except without the Night Elves. You have The Empire are at war with The Beastmen, and they eventually join together to fight The Fallen, which are lead by a traitor human. Yup, not much else to say.

Okay, now that we have all that taken care of, let's finish with the stats.

Gameplay - 5.5/10
AoE get's a score of 5.5 in gameplay solely for the fact that it is Warcraft 3. The underground system is a nice addition, but it just adds a more aggravation because you have to take care of attacks from the surface and underground, which does nothing more then make it more stressful for the player.

Originality - 3/10
It's unfortunate I pick such an unoriginal game for this. It gets a 3 because WC3 was done before.

Graphics - 8/10
This game looks great, it has a dark and serious atmosphere, and overall it's just really nice to look at, even if the unit portraits look terrible.

User Friendliness - 7/10
If you have ever played an RTS ever in your life, congratulations you know how to play AoE.

Replay Factor - 5/10
I guess if you liked playing WC3, but you'd like to play it with better graphics, then you could play this for hours. But there's only one problem about playing it more then once, motion sickness. The camera has a nasty habit of swiveling to the left or the right which has a very nauseating effect.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Final Score - 5.7/10
Armies Of Exigo is a mediocre clone of Warcraft 3, which tries to be unique but altogether fails at making itself known. Instead of making itself into something new and interesting, it just ends up riding on the coat tails of a more successful RTS.

Wow that took a while to type. Well, please comment and tell me how you think I could improve.

Kay thanks bye.
Only thing I can think of is describing how the underground system works, it sounds a little interesting..
It's nice anyway.

Use words to describe something to make it more clear? You, my friend, are a genius. I'll do that in later reviews, or when I feel like it. Whichever comes first.
