Ok, we’ve heard about the players, now it’s time for the battles.

Personally, I’d have to go with the Battle at the Gates last season.

Party because it was my first ACTUAL PvP (Dire, I’m not counting Winterfell. Yeah…seven posts with…. no results, only you flinging arrows. Yeah…); and two, I laughed a lot.

No offense chugman, but I believe the Greeks would call what you had hubris, mostly because your posts were not really detailed, your postes were short and I got confused a few times.

But that aside, I think what really made you lose the battle was splitting your forces. When I read that you had your guys go to the wall, I had to have a laugh; it looked like you were playing in to my hands.

Now, if you had had them attack my unsullied, then you would have been able to defeat me. Remember, all my unsullied were facing your infantry, paying no mind to their rear. Horses are still faster than unsullied trying to form up again. I think that’s what made you loose the battle.

But while we’re at it, did you attack Crakehall on your own accord? Because I had the feeling that it was completely unplanned by your alliance.

Death before Disgrace
I've got two.

From first season, the first battle at the Bloody Gates between Bathos and I. It was my second real PvP, and my first big win. We had nearly equal forces (I think I had one more battalion) and we prettymuch just duked it out (don't remember a whole lot of the details, I think our cavalry engaged on the flanks while our infantry hit in the center). The outcome was really close, it was just alot of fun.

The other would be Lord Harroway's Town last season, when I was attacked by the White Bull. He made the excellent move of loading his trebuchets with broken glass and pebbles, which really tore into my ranks. Then I send my cavalry behind, first striking at the trebs, then coming around to flank. He did the same, both from behind and from the side, I so used my pikes and archers to hold it off. Meanwhile his Unsullied were tearing up my front lines. It came down to cavalry and archers vs. cavalry and archers, and I ended up winning due to numbers. A really close fight and a whole lot of fun. (Props to Acheron for such an in-depth analysis of the battle)

My favorite battle was probably the one with direwolf at The Crag. It was the largest battle in a Game of thrones to date i think. We both had catapults and elites and we had one massive battle.

also i think you were talking about East bridge turn cloak and well i had just had back surgery the day prior to our first post and was quite drugged for most of my posts. Also you had walls on a city that was not a capital city. But all together i thought you had a good strategy and enjoyed the battle my self. I thought the rafts was a good idea because it let me get behind your forces.

the lesson a learned form that was don't take pain medicine before posting.

^Lol^. Point. You had back surgery. But then, you had back surgery.

Yeah, East Bridge. At the Gates, we learned what will happen if we have a rule about battalion movements when an attack is declared before it. I was going to say that the smoke blinded you a bit, but that was unnecessary.

Hmm…maybe I’ll reread the Battle at the Crag…maybe.

Well... I have yet to become involved in any, I mean ANY major or decisive battles so far. I wish Sunviper would have been able to do the fight at Sunspear, and even if I would have lost (I probably would have even with my well set defenses) I think it would have been a great battle.

The only pvp I have done was the 2 skirmishes with the Bull, and while they were just skirmishes I thoroughly enjoyed them. He used some truly great strategy in mixing up his small attack forces and I was amazed that I did as well as I did.

My favorite of the 2 skirmishes is easily the fight at Lemonwood. It really caused me to think in terms of using my terrain and formations to their fullest.

Well let me tell you, there is nothing I hate more than losing a battle, even if it is onl a skirmish, and I put everthing I had into those two battles, fighting to one loss and one draw. I feel sorry for whoever has to fight you in a large battle, because I'm sure you'll bring the pain.

I just reread my battle against chugman at the Crag. I didn't remember much before, but now after having read it again I must say that really was an awesome battle.
