Alright, well, guess I shall go ahead and start.. One thing I think that would make the game interesting.. is a Random Event Generator. Once a week i was thinking... with a variety of diffrent events, good bad, and nither. Now, the original idea was to have each city have one random event. But on a large many city map, this might be a long period as well as hard to maintain. However, would allow larger empires to have more happen, where as smaller ones don't. Some events were things like, Militia recruitment, revolt, weather of various types, bandit raids, merchant donations, family reunions ect. Antoher thing I was thinking for next season, is improving NPC battles. This seems to be the major flaw in most seasons from what I am told, and I had a simple solution for it. Make them more difficult as time goes on.... So, for this, I had two plans. 1) After the first year in game (first month) double the price of units stationed there. (so instead of 500-750 1000-1250) Also, make them as difficult as a normal PC battle. Reason for this, is as the war drags on between nations, the other, independent factions gather refugees, deserters, and renegades and start to trian their troops and gather together in more cohesive regiments. After the Second Month, Double their values again (2000-2500GD) and in certain citys (Radomly determined) place walls. Again, with the addition of being as difficult as a normal PC battle, this should make those attacks both costly and more difficult. FOr NPC capitols, if we still have them, they wuold go up the same rate, except for month 2. INstead, if the towns adjacent to them are undefended or are NPC's, they turn into a NPC empire. So for Example, if Castle Black (on current map) was an NPC capitol, it would gain control of any NPC or Undefended towns adjacent to it (Queenscrown, SHadow Tower, Eastwatch) Those towns would have thier units, and for the third and fourth months, they gain an imcome, and purchase units. Perhaps they can even make attacks. 2) If one isn;t use, then instead making NPC towns gain an income of their cost every week, and purchasing units as they gain enough money. Also, (if we have one) having a non playing Mod playing the game AS the NPC's. So, he uses the 1000 gold for each town first, and as the weeks go buy, can purchase more units as he gets the gold. SO, some towns can have archers and such others possibly one elite.. NPC capitols would work the same way, except they would get 300 a week as a normal capitol does. this would make taking NPC capitols more difficult as the game progressed, and would essentally make these targets mroe valuable ealier, because the moe time is spent, the longer harder it would be to take the city. Also, again, treat NPC's after X time (1 month my suggestion) like PC battles, so that losses are more common... Well, here is some food for thought. I got some other ideas as well, like making alliances with NPC citys, and donations, but lets do this in segments. |

Well i think for the Random event generator we would have to make two lists with 100 possibilities each(For Major and Minor events). I don't know about the Whole Npc Empire thing. Npc's should get harder but only slightly(They should still be easy enough for a army of 1250 to beat) So every month their army should only go up about 250 gd worth. However what i would really like to see is Castle or City system in witch a player when they take a npc town choses between making a city witch makes 150 gold but has no defences and can't raise troops. and Castle witch makes 50 gold per turn and can make troops and has walls. lastly Declartions. In witch you can Declare your self Knig of westros for 500 gold. What you gain is a 25% chance some npc citys on your boarders will join you instanly and Lords(Players) May join your banner(They will count as allies BUT they can't win the game they will only be there at the end of the game and their king will win). However every other player is given the option of Refusing you and gaining 500 gold with of troops as they are "rebels" against the king.(This is just an idea right now it might haveSomthing like you need to control certin cities to declare your self king. Like if you want to be king of the north you need to have winterfell) |

Well... I was just gonna do 100 events on one, and just have minor and major mixed up. But, if we can come up with 200 ideas I wouldn't be opposed to two sheets. however, how does one decide to use a major or minor event? The city/castle thing... is interesting. HOwever, if we did that, I would think we would need to have a City building system... Like... Castles can make military facultys so that they can train diffrent troops. Perhaps have each non capitol city allow.. 5 buildings... 1 of which is taken up by walls for example. We could also have a list of things for Citys that improve them, and possibly grant it milita like troops, but ya... that would take work and book keeping too... Declerations? Interesting idea, and I think you would need at least half a region to declare yourself. Also, you would need whatever NPC capitol is there. (Also, will the previous two seasons have any affect on this next one? Like, In the South, old Town would be the capitol of the region down there, due to Tyros's influence, where as the riverlands would be under the smallwoods was it? The North, being the focual point of Season 5, could have NO leadership, due to the war between the Wildings and Iron Raiders. The Raiders left in disarray, and the Wildlings raided, pillaged, and headed back to their area, that could encompass the Wall, QUeenscrown (its capitol) and some sites up North. Perhaps even have it, the reason the lands North of the wall are not under the Wildling faction is due to the fact a power strugle broke out, and whoever takes the wildling faction would need to once again unify the lands.. NPC alliance? What I mean by that, was something similar to what I was attempting Last Season with Winterfell. Being a Stark, I didn't wish to attack my family at Winterfell. however, with the layout of the North at the time, Winterfell was center to everything, and was NEEDED to move about the North. So, what I attempted to do was use Winterfell, the NPC town, as an 'ally' so taht I could pass through it as if it was a town of another player that had given me permission to move through there territory. ANother thing I attempted (was told no, but to bring it up this season, never did) was sending troops to NPC citys to help them. Again, Winterfell, when White Bull attacked it, I had planned on sending a regiment of Bowmen, as well as another group of men at arms. with Elite Bowmen, and the extra troops, the attack on Winterfell would have cost him much more, and could have failed. This season, we were going to attempt the Multiple Armys at once thing, but no one really was active to give that a try. the NPC alliance thing is more of a RP thing then anything, and I doubt many would use it considering they get no benifit aside from allowing to move through it. |

Well for the castle/city thing i would like to keep it simple. Cities - Produce extra gold and moving troops from them costs no upkeep(Moving to them does) Castles - Can recruit and have defenses, also it costs no money to post defenses for the troops already there. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- As for the North and such, Again to keep it simple we will say that a few hundred years have passed so the north has had time to heal. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reinforcing npc cities with troops should be allowed however moving through them should always be impossible. Npc's act as barriers for players being allowed to move through them for the cost of a man-at-arms would make for allot of people ignoring npc cities and gunning for capitals. |

Alright, so... Moving into towns cost upkeep, but leaving them does not. (Movement cost deducted entering but not leaving town. What about posted defences?) For castles, moving to and from them cost gold, however, they can defend for free? That how I am reading that? As for the north, I wwas hoping to keep at least some semblace of the other seasons (4-5) in the mix. I like the idea of continuing with each season with some time passing in between, changing the map and such each season to accomidate peoples victorys and defeats. Alot of time could have passed, but I would say the North isn't 'whole' again. I would think, Queenscrown, and the Wall, would remain in the hands of the wildlings. Winterfell was abandoned, being fought over constantly, and is in rubble, and the fortified Moat Calin has been designated as the Capitol of the North. A treaty of Sorts was made between the armies of the South, and the wildlings, and peace and trade has.. for the most part, come to pass. Some raids still happen, and the Souths biggest cause has been teh infighting for power between various clans and ect. Alright, so you can send reinforcements to bolster town defences, but never move through them. Questoin arises then. (Again using the Winterfell battle). The Attacking Force consisted of 2 Guardsmen, 2 archers, 1 men at arms 1 seige tower. 4250 was the cost of the attacking army. Defences were 6 men at arms, 2 archers. 2500gp x 1.5 for the walls. 3750 was the total cost for the Winterfell army. So, At the time, I was going to send my Bowmen into Winterfell, in order to reinforce my family there. That would have boosted the main number by 1500 cause of the walls, making the total 5250. If units are sent to a NPC city, would it run as 1) A mod makes teh NPC posts, and the PC forces are made in a post via the PC, and then the attacker posts? 2) The forces are inducted into the NPC army (Permenatly, or until killed) and the battle is still judged as an NPC battle? 3) As 2, except the battle is judged as a PC battle? 4) The forces are there under Mod control until the end of the battle, and its treated as an NPC battle? 5) as 4, except treated as a PC battle? If the forces are still treated as a NPC battle, and most NPC battles (that I have witnessed) are not lost, due to the nature of the NPC battles, sending troops to them would be like suicide. Even troops of even number during NPC battles, the battle always favors the PC. Would sending PC units to a NPC battle on behalf of the NPC city/capitol make the battle more even on judgement grounds? |

Posting defenses for cities cost gold. Dendric i'm going to say that your in charge of the story and what city is the capital for each region. As for your Npc city stuff. 1.(after the first month) When a npc battle is posted we will say that it has 12 hours until a admin can begin the defenses. So a enemy player has 12 hours to say he moves his troops into the city(These troops will arrive on the second post of the defender.) 2. Yes once there the troops you sent are effectively npc troops permanently(no refunds). 3. The battle will be judged as a Npc battle. This is for the sheer sake that this city does not belong to the player thus the player cannot defend for it.(You have sent troops to aid them so the player's character is not there)(Or if he is there he counts as a non-killable npc) 4. The reinforcements will be under NPC control. 5. Battle will be treated as a NPC battle. Before i go into the next part i will post the chart for how Battles will be judged. 50% roleplay 30% troop cost 10% Timely Posting 10% fairness. The percentage will be given Between the the two players So it would look like this Player A: 25% role play, 20% troop, 5% Posting, 5% Fairness, total %:55 Player B: 25% rp, 10% troop,5% Posting, 5% Fairness, total %: 45 Player A wins. Side notes NPC will always post on a 20% role play level All the points do NOT have to be awarded. example... If both players are late on their posts, the judges might chose to award little or no points in posting. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ So as you can see the Using this system a Npc can tie with a player if the npc has a higher troop value than the player and the player is not roleplaying to the top of THEIR ability Players can lose npc battles if the npc has been boosted pretty well. Or if the players role player very well but don't have the majority troop value, the player might take heavy loses. |
