Frequently Asked Questions
Game Edition
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Welcome to the Charmed: Rebirth of Magic FAQ. I hope this FAQ/Guide can help you with any questions you may have.
Now lets start and see where we can go.
1. We arrived at the starting grounds, at the end is a gate, now what?
Make sure you "Speak" to the "Helping Guy" NPC's located here.
Before you can enter the gate, you have to choose an alignment, do so by reading either of the 2 kinds of books. The left side, cyan books, represent good and the right side, red books, represent evil. You can also right click the books to see what you can do with it. In this case, use "Read book", either by right clicking or by using it from the Commands Tab. Read it untill your alignment, found in your Stats Tab, results in either good or evil. Now enter the gate and choose the race you want.
2. I choose my race and arrived in a new location, now what?
Depending on the race you choose, you are teleported to a location fitting to the race. Feel free to explore the area a bit and see what you can, don't wander off to far, training facility's shouldn't be to far off. In the following screenshot, i choose to be a witch and got teleported to the "Academy for gifted Children" ingame better known as "Magic School or Good Academy". After wandering of in the school, i found a room with blue crystal like things, those are the Training Orbs. This is what we will be using to train and get some powers.
3. You mentioned powers, how do i get them again?
For starters, its best to find an athame. They can be found in a chest, BYOND Members get one on character creation, others will have to find that chest, there should be one not to far away. Now if we got an athame, its time to start our boring session off training. Remember those Training Orbs? Well, lets get back to them, make sure you go to Training Orb 1, right click it to see its name, clicking Info will explain a little about these Orbs. Now lets finally start training, use Stab by right clicking the Orb or a faster way, click Stab in your Commands Tab. Do this a few times and check your Stats Tab, if your stats drop in percentage, you are making progress, if nothing happens you may ask one of the other players ingame for more help. As your stats change you get stronger (The stats will be explained later), with that you also get powers, acquiring powers takes time, keep that in mind.
4. How do my stats work?
In the screenshot below you can see the Stats Tab (Im not using the default skin, but it is actually the Stats Tab), lets explain the basic things in the Stats Tab.
- FAQ: As you may have noticed, this is the name of your character, i named mine FAQ.
- Gender: Well, im a guy, so go figure, Male it is.
- Alignment: This shows your current alignment, mine is Good, the alignment may change depending on actions taken ingame. (
- Class: This is what you are classified as, in my case, i just made the character so im still a "Witch in Training".
- Power Points: These are just points you earn by training, random amounts are rewarded, dont confuse this for your level. Check the next step for more info on the Power Points.
- RP Status: This is the rating given to you by a RPM, certain things require a rating, for more info click here.
- Health: This is your health, displayed in percentage. 100% is full health, 0% means you should be dead.
- Energy: Also displayed in %, this represents how much energy you still have before having to rest, Training or using powers consumes energy.
- Strength/Power: Both displayed in % aswell, this in general doesnt mean all to much, 100% is full power/strength. Im at 27%, which means that ill only do 27% of the maximum damage i can do. Rest to restore this.
The Job part will be explained later when more jobs are added, a seperate Job FAQ will be made.
5. What are Power Points?
Power Points are points of powers awarded to you as you gain levels, your levels arent displayed anywhere duo to Roleplaying purpose.
One of the NPC's over at the gate at the starting grounds can give information about it.
6. What about the skill named Power Points?
Posted Image
The skill allows you to either Absorb or Create Power Points.
Absorb: Absorbing the Power Points increases your Power Stat, several things in the game rely on the amount of Power you have. Your class is effected by your Power, some of your actual powers "Skills" deal damage based on Power, and your Powers (Skills) are gained based upon the amount of power you have.
Create: Creating Power Points should not be done unless you really need 1 or 2 badly! Creating a Power Point drains your Power Stat and costs several times more then Absorbing one allows you to gain.
7. Options? I didn't ask about that?
Perhaps you didn't but usefull information can be find in this menu.
- Toggle Default Chat: Old feature that lost its purpose in Byond 4.x, you may still try it if you want.
- Chat Color: Allows you to choose your own name color for OOC & Say.
- Toggle Arguement Chat: Enabling this will add a now command "A-OOC" and allows you to see whatever is being said in that channel.
