Ahh as the years go by the game changes more and more every wipe it seems. Well, I am here to clear up and hopefully guide those new to the game, rping, or just unsure of specific events that has not been covered in most if not any previous guides. This will all be up to date information and of course approved by Sync (Credit to him for most if not all the information provided below). Hopefully this will make the RPMs job easier in determining the right path to go on a questionable RP, as well as help the players make better and more clear decisions in RP. All the rules, requirements, and grey areas of role playing:

Attacking Emotes (Damage dealers)

Rules
- When talking/emoting oocly, use brackets! [ ], { }, < >, ( ).
- You do not know someone's name without someone that does know it telling to you.
- When attacking someone, you must use emote. Try to use more then just "[person attacks other person]". Give at least 15 seconds reaction time!
- Do not go to places your character has no reason to go to, for example the Charmed Manor, if you do not know anyone that lives here. If you do any attacks, no any RP from that point forward is considered void.
- If the target emotes running away, you may not chase the player. You must emote again before you are allowed to attack!
- An entry emote may not contain an attack, you must enter the RP before you are allowed to attack someone.

Requirements
- In order to kill someone, your character must first have a reason to do so.
- All attack emotes must be at least 3 lines in size, emotes with only 1 or 2 lines are to be considered void!
- The line below is the standard size for 1 line, you can use that to measure the size of your emote
<----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
- If an attack emote is 3 to 5 lines, then 15 seconds responds needs to be give. If an attack is 6-8 lines, then 20 seconds needs to be given.
- You may only do a single attack per emote! Multiple attacks in a single emote or attacking twice without a second emote is considered void! This is a jail able offense!!
- When attacking a person, always state who you are attacking by including their name in the emote.

Grey Areas
- Any type of offensive emote also follow under the attacking rules (i.e. Freezing, teleporting someone away, etc.)
- You can NOT perform an offensive emote within an attack emote and vise versa. (i.e. Attack and Teleport someone away, Freeze and Attack, etc)
- You CAN run at and hit someone with a physical attack such as punch or scratch. In this case you would give a proper emote clearly stating you are doing so, then run to the person, THEN start the time for a counter.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Offensive Emotes (Freezing, Teleporting People, etc.) and Counter Attack Emotes

Rules
- Offensive/Counter emotes follow the same rules for an attack.

Requirements
- Also follows the same rules as if an attack emotion rules.

Grey Areas
- None at the moment not covered in the attack emote section of this guide.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Defensive Emotes (Things to not counter, but halt an oncoming attack or offensive emote)

Rules
- If you emote dodging, running or teleporting, you MUST perform these actions. Getting attacked after emoting but not actually acting the emote out will make this a legal attack! However the attacker may not move or chase the target!

Requirements
- Explain what you're defending against and describe how you defend yourself. If you lack one of these, your emote will be voided.

Grey Ares
- You may use freezing, spellcasting, teleporting, etc. Powers if specified and indeed capable of acting as a form of defense against another. In this case no counter time is needed.
- If you are attempting to protect someone, all the rules apply as if you was defending yourself, only you must specify instead who you are protecting, from what, and how.

More Grey Areas

- Summoning: When attempting to summon someone, an emote must be placed in OOC-Emote specifying details on who you are attempting to summon as well as how. Afterwards you may attempt to summon that person with no wait time. (NOTE: You must have some form of knowledge of the person you are attempting to summon. You do not need a name, just enough general information as there race and appearance to successfully summon someone.) CLASS 6 BEINGS CAN NOT BE SUMMONED... at least not with the use of a spell by one person.

- Stealing: When attempting to steal something you must allow a 15 second counter time.

- Stealing from the dead: When attempting to steal an item from someone you have killed you must first make sure your method of killing them is not one that would destroy the item as well. Second you need to give an OOC-Emote stating what you are taking from there body, followed by a reaction time as some items may be used or altered in some form on rare occasions.

- Challenging: You must challenge someone in IC in order for it to be considered legit RPly. Challenging is nothing more then a faster way to complete an attack rp in a PvP style arena. No rules are involved in this type of fight.

- Killed by the game: If you are killed by the firebolts in the painting, this is a legit kill and you will not be revived.
*If you die by creating a potion from flesh that is to strong, this will be considered as a IC death and you will not be revived.
*If you are killed by an NPC you may simply walk threw the portal and be auto revived. Some NPCs have been noted to not be included in the code, if this is the case post what killed you in the RP Log and ask for RPM assistance.

Side Notes

- If you feel your RP has violated a rule or seems unlegit in some way shape or form, DO NOT PANIC! Do not start a huge argument in OOC, or AOOC at that. IT IS A WASTE OF TIME! Simply copy and paste a little before, on through a little after the alleged violation took place. Paste it in the RP Log (Which can be found in the Commands tab) and wait for an RPM to review it. (Of course if it involves an RPM you would wait for the word from another.)

If the RPM makes a decision, do not attempt to fight it. 8/10 chances are they will be right. Not everyone's problems should need Curt, Sesha or Syncs eyes unless an RPM deems it necessary. Do not try to be a rebel and demand to go to the CEO if the managers telling you your wrong. Understand they (should) have a very good understanding of how RP should be conducted and a non biased opinion in the event of a mishap. If you still are not satisfied with the decision request the opinion of a second RPM, after that you should most likely suck it up and accept it. :p

As time goes on I will continue to update this with more information considering I know I've encountered more grey areas, just cannot think of them at the moment lol.
