Gamecrab Boardgame Cafe Mini-Contest #1

Neat huh? So what does this have to do with mini-contest numero uno?

On January 25th (the 2nd day of our FREE Gaming Extravaganza), we will be holding a contest to see who amongst our beloved customers has the more artistic side. The theme will be “Gaming at Game Crab”. You can use any material you want, as long as the submitted product is 3D (three dimensional). It doesn’t have to be BIG like the one pictured above (it can be the size of a Lego person), as long as its creative.

The winner of said contest will win a brand new game courtesy of Game Crab Boardgame Cafe. Participants MAY submit their entries earlier (January 24th) if they prefer, but judging will be held on January 25.

There is one limitation though. This contest will be void if we do not accept at least ten (10) entries. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to see your magnificent works of art come January 25!

To usher in the start of what will hopefully be a WONDERFUL year, Game Crab Boardgame Cafe is hosting not one, but TWO GAMING DAYS!!

On January 24 to 25 (Sat. & Sun.), 11:30am to 10:30pm, EVERYONE gets to play for FREE!

Greetings! Scrabble has found a home at the GAMECRAB café at the Katipunan Avenue, Loyola Heights, Quezon City. Players of all ages are invited to join its inaugural Scrabble competition on August 4 to 7, 2008 under the sanction of the National Association for Scrabble in the Philippines, Inc.

It is envisioned that with a regular venue for promoting the Scrabble game, a core league of schools can be organized from which to draw a training pool of youth players, as well as adult players from the Game Crab membership, who can ably represent the Philippines in Asia-Pacific competitions. Other Asian countries like Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia have developed players who have brought honors to their schools and their countries in such competitions. Why not the Filipino player?
As a parlor game, Scrabble has recreational benefits and is the world’s leading word game. In its competitive form, the crossword game has educational benefits for math and word-building. It also provides an opportunity to develop thinking skills, problem solving and personal challenge.
