Sometimes the controversy is what makes the jokes work. Yes, every now and then, comedians make a mockery of things that simply cannot be made to be funny. But 9 times out of 10, the jokes are just about bad enough to be naughty, but not quite too far to be considered tasteless. Comedians like Jimmy Carr and Ricky Gervais like to see how far they can go before they cause an uproar by offering different points of view, or even their own opinions, on matters such as world events and religion. It's all part of the comedy, and is not designed to cause offence. Censoring it is ruining it for those who do like it - If you don't like it, stay away.

Honestly that's the same as saying we should censor Christianity because atheists don't agree with it. How about we just censor everything? That guy over there doesn't like tacos, whoops no more tacos. Hitler didn't like Jews, bye-bye Jewish people. I don't like cats, no more cats. Oh, I almost forgot: you don't agree with the 1^st amendment, welcome to the United States of WTF?
