It is appropriate to have humor in a serious topic? Quoted from the thread: "Anyone who looks online these days in any chatroom or webform can see some sort of example of situations or topics that are of utmost seriousness, and also see them portrayed in a funny light. Among these are pedophilia, rape, dead babies, abortions, racism, sexism, adultery, prostitution, murder, kidnapping, and many more. Is putting humor into a serious topic beneficial to individuals, or is it harmful? Positives * A bit of humor might make people a bit more comfortable talking about the topic. * Humor might draw attention to the topic, so that the serious part may be brought forth. Negatives * Victims of the above situations may be offended. * Humor might draw the seriousness away from a topic, and put a false light on it, making it seem far less serious than it actually is." So what do you think?

There are some people who can't take a joke, and will be offended by that, but that's just their opinion. If they don't like it, they can find different people to hang out with. If you can't laugh something off, it's probably defeated you. Too much can take the seriousness away from a situation, however. I agree there. It's just a case of knowing where that line is.

Deleted User	so i had this best freind who was suicidial at the same time i was, and we had this joke where we'd tell each other to kill themself and the other would say how. till he actually did. ha ha ha. my point? i have none. jsut felt like m,aking people feel akward.

Yes, you have rights and your opinions. But when I spend every day trying to avoid thinking those very thoughts you guys post, it makes me wonder why people say the world is messed up.

Ok, let me stop you right here. That is perfectly normal, that's what humans do. We should reproduce and keep the species going, so thinking about sexual thoughts is never a bad/wrong/terrible thing. According to a Christian's point of view, if God made us to reproduce, then why would that be wrong?

According to a Christian's point of view, if God made us to reproduce, then why would that be wrong? Sex before marriage is wrong. Until I get married, I don't want to be caught in situations where I will have a desire to reproduce with someone.

Deleted User	it takes nine months from the moment sperm and egg fuse till birth. that's teh point he's making. and as i have both sexual and suicidal convera\sationhs with people all teh tmie, i can joke about them. suicide is f***ing terrifying. it's claimed every single one of my best freinds. i need to joke about it a litttle. take the edge off.
