... For china. Today is the day of the general election, and it's pretty obvious that the Conservatives, best described as modern-day Nazis, are going to get into power. They will mess up this country, and no-one seems to understand this. People thought Britain was doing badly before (it wasn't, by the way... In fact, it was thanks to our Prime Minister that the world is rising above the recession), well now we're going to experience a decline like we never thought possible. So don't be surprised if you never see me here again. The tax rises will probably mean we won't be able to pay for internet anymore

Nazi: The National Socialist German Workers Party ...Conservatives are anti-socialist, they are trying to conserve our countries current state, not ruin it by changing any thing. If no one seems to understand it, its probably because you're misunderstanding it. |

No, that was a joke. lol *rolls eyes* Like SoulSnatcher says, they didn't win by a majority, meaning they most likely won't be leading without the Liberal Democrats help... The best case scenario, however, would be if the Lib Dems joined up with Labour. That way, David Cameron (conservative leader) would be kept out. @PP: You couldn't possibly understand how bad the 'Tories' are. They don't care at all about the poor, the MASSES... No Tory government ever has. I'm not stupid enough to assume that Cameron's Tories will be any different. By the way... 'Tory' is a nickname for 'Conservatives'. |

Thin, to me it sounds like you listened to some radio host, or some documentary that made you sound like America is apocolyptic and you're sounding like a know-it-all about everything. Look around, has anything really changed? And if you think China is better than the US, you just made me lol. |

America? What has America got to do with this? You do know I'm British, right? And I'm not forming my opinion from what some radio host said. I'm forming it from the fact that every Tory government in history has screwed up the country for everyone except the rich, and I fear that David Cameron's Tories will be the same. Luckily, if they join up with the Lib Dems, then they won't be too bad. Plus, Labour aren't definitely out. So if the Tories don't join with the Lib Dems, Labour could still form a hung parliament with other parties. |

...Yeah, the "conservatives" in Britain are much different than in America. Tories have traditionally supported the monarchy and incredibly an strong government in that sense.... Also, fascism does not come from socialism. Socialism (and communism, in America) has always been considered the far left. Socialism means dissolving formal government as an eventual end. Fascism is entirely the opposite and has no such goals in mind in any way shape or form. Saying one is a direct branch form the other is ludicrous. Also, I guess that sucks TV? I honestly know little about politics in Britain or what the party's stances are. Here the cries for no new taxes all come form the conservatives, since we have very little in the way of taxes, really (and so relatively little in the way of social programs). It's weird seeing how different it is in other countries O_o Wow, I'm actually a little surprised. I thought there was party strife here, but this makes things sound even worse in Britain.... Then again, we've had practice dealing with things like, I dunno...slavery? One of the largest civil wars in history? It's almost as if we try not to get TOO into the party strife, less something like that happens again.... Edited by Vlad, May 9 2010, 05:17 AM.

@PP: lol, that's OK ![]() @Vlad: Yes, it does suck. It's very strange how the conservatives in the US don't want to add new taxes, where that's all the Tories here want to do... For the poor at least... They also want to bring back fox hunting (which was massively protested by the public, causing Labour to ban it)... I also heard they want to leave the EU (TERRIBLE idea) and cut the NHS, which would cause a heck of an uproar. I hate them, I really do. |

LEAVE the EU? Holy crap that's stupid. The EU is the best economic opportunity European countries have. The total GDP of the EU is roughly equivalent to that of the U.S.--quite an achievement. Mostly Conservatives here are for tax cuts. Americans have a huge phobia against any sort of tax (though, compared to other countries, we have very few). However, they do want tax cuts for the rich first (ever heard of "trickle down economics?"), and are stridently against any nationalized health care system in essentially any form. No Fox hunting here...but we did ban cock fighting in my state not so long ago. |

So the National Socialist Worker's Party of Germany, lead by Hitler, was neither Socialist nor Fascist? |

I just quoted is in my RTS game That I am making under gamemaker. EDIT: All I seeing is the EU is taking away nations sovereignty. (Is the EU Capital located at Brussel Belgium or that is the president located at.) Edited by DT-170x, May 9 2010, 11:13 PM.

Semantics. Names don't mean that's what they believe in. The party started off as socialist but was twisted under Hitler into something definitively not so. The Nazis were avidly against socialism. Communists were the number one target for the Nazis for quite some time--even more so than Jews, at first. They were fascist. I obviously said that. Fascist does not mean socialist in any way shape or form. The EU doesn't take away sovereignty. That's a ridiculous idea. If it went a lot farther, perhaps it might. But at the moment it's an economic association, mostly. I think Americans are a bit too obsessed with sovereignty at times, anyway. |

I believe the EU Capital is located there. I don't even know who the leader of the EU is... I know Britain's own Tony Blair ran to be the leader, but failed. |
