There's a new Battletech game in development. My first impressions were squashed a bit when I saw that it was turn-based rather than real time. However, I have always been a fan of the Battletech RPG and miniature game. In the few clips I watched, it appears to be a great recreation of the tabletop game.

They took the game away from the massive amount of lore so you're a mercenary group trying to help empower a weak monarch. I believe you move from planet to planet trying to strengthen your group and take over part of the Inner Sphere previously not described. How much you then bump into the other Clans or Inner Sphere, I'm unsure. You have to keep your pilots alive, salvage parts and mechs, and otherwise play very similar to tabletop game. I'm going to keep an eye on this one as I've not delved into a turn based game in quite awhile.

Battletech Game- Due in April on Steam :link:

If you pre-order through GOG they also include the Shadowrun game released by the same company.

I'm a bit hesitant to pre order of late. My son played a couple early beta games and convinced me to get them for him. A couple of them turned out to be turds. Now the whole terrible Sea of Thieves release made me even more weary.

I'm reluctant, too. I picked up Civ 6, and it's basically a really, really, slow Age of Conquerors that isn't fun. It took three releases for Civ 5 to become the awesome game it did, and I'm kicking myself for jumping in too early.

I only pre-ordered a game once. Captain America in 3D on the 360. It's not bad if all you really want to do is put it on Easy and kick lots of Nazi butt fore a few hours. However, if you're looking for an immersive game that takes 60 hours of game play then it's not for you.
