The biggest issue will now be having communities that will be able to keep the games playable on newer machines as the games age even more. I was never a fan of games that disappear when the servers go black. These days, more and more games rely heavily on being online and having contact with their server. This would be a good move though I wonder how strong the argument against this exception is considering the rights of IP holders and the potential for modding the game/IP. |
