After Lego Star Wars, and Lego Batman, and Lego Indiana Jones being such big successes, why not Lego Army of Darkness?

I would buy that along with Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland. Zombieland may be the best of the bunch in Lego with all the zombie survival rules.

After briefly playing some Lego Star Wars I realized that the game play alone was not enough to keep me coming back and since I'm much more of a Trek fan, I lost interest. However, I think the Indiana Jones would be fun along with Harry Potter. And a Lego Shaun of the Dead would definitely be hilarious!

The first Indiana Jones lego game was good because it stuck with the story and added lots of quirky fun. The second one that added the 4th movie with the trilogy had the best multiplayer splitscreen play but the game is the second worst of the lego series. The Harry Potter lego game (the first years; haven't played the newest one) is the worst. Using spells starts off as fun but all the puzzles and spells present absolutely no challenge. Select spell --> Problem over.

My favorite of the ones we have is the original Batman. Puzzles are good and lots of quirky Lego humor. The original Star Wars lego game is good but I'm a bigger fan of Indiana Jones so even though it was a bit better, I don't replay it with the kids. I may have to find a copy of the Pirates of the Caribbean one and the new Batman. I figure I can get another generation out of my xbox as I replay a bunch of my games with each kid as they get to the right age.

May need to add the Batman one to our list of games to try out then and nix Harry Potter (which sounds like it was treated as a shovelware game instead of a nice quirky lego re-imagination).

Morgan's a big fan of the Lego games- we need to get the second Batman one, and I'm pretty psyched for the Marvel game they've got coming out.

The one I want to see is Lego Galaxy Quest.

One good thing about Lego games is how they are discounted really fast how bad games are. The demand spikes and drops off fast so I am always looking to pick them up for cheap. Currently waiting on the second Batman and LotR games to drop in price. The kids are asking for them and I want to play them.

I forgot about this thread. I announced in shout that they're working on Lego Marvel Super Heroes.

Update!

Forgot to post that we've had the Batman 2 Lego game for some time now. At first I was turned off by how it controlled. It's very different in design but keeps the usual trademarks. You quickly get full run of all of Arkham City which is somewhat similar to Lego Indian Jones 2 but the city and the Batcave is your default home level.

The levels are much more interesting. They use the usual unique character suits and abilities to help figure out simple puzzles which are fun. You quickly gain new heroes to choose from after a few level completions. New heroes bring fun abilities which contrast very well with Batman and Robin needing and having to find different suits to change into. They still hide 10 canisters in each level as well as the standard other things. Instead of gaining lego coins to buy stuff on your home screen, the stuff is littered all over Arkham City. 200+ gold blocks are hidden with some having physical puzzles. Red blocks unlock the different cheats so a dozen or so sit around the city too. You gain heroes playing the story line but you buy the villains to play after finding them scattered about the city as well. There's more things to find as well such as a bunch of vehicles to unlock.

The fun in Lego games is replaying the levels to find all hidden canisters in each level. The level designs are much different than any previous Lego game. It includes POV vehicle chase scenes (chasing and being chased), fighting a giant robot while in free fall from Wayne Tower, traditional Lego levels and other fun stuff. Heroes are Batman, Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Cyborg and Flash. All the Batman villains plus Lex Luthor. The majority of the game is combating the Joker and Lex. They added voice overs which are decent but the scripting is often humorous. I have to say that this is the best Batman game ever made because they were able to sneak in Batman hanging from a helicopter flown by Robin as sharks tried to attack. If you understand how awesome that is, you'll love all the humor in the game.

The downside: The game perspective many times makes the game harder to play. I think this is mostly due to us playing multiplayer and the split screen. Because they use the clever split screen that rotates, it jostles your individual view a little. This is a non-issue except when you're trying to aim. Aiming the batarang gets easier as you get used to it but having to keep Superman's eye beams steady is a pain unless you get the other player to stop or they are far enough away not to affect the adjusting splitscreen. The only issue in single player is having targets in some chase scenes being nearly off screen or hidden by the POV view of your own vehicle blocking a small portion of the screen.

The second issue is flying. It works fantastic when you need it most: during the levels. In Arkham City, it functions a little different. It's a pain when you fly next to a building and want to fly away. Landing where you want to is hard and I'm still trying to do it well. It's easier to fly straight down into something and stopping with a thud (the character's head gets stuck in the ground for a couple seconds and pops out). Vehicles are a bit easier to raise up and down now that I figured out the control scheme to do it but it doesn't work for flying heroes.

I have the MSH Lego game for 3DS. For some reason, it was the first game I bought the day it came out. It follows the same pattern of building bricks to make moveable set pieces, but each hero also has special abilities. They all have ranged and melee attacks, and most of them have some unique feature as well. It took me about half an hour and several lives before figuring out that Mr Fantastic can flatten into a glider to get across a chasm too far to jump.

However, I got stuck about halfway through. There is a battle with Loki and the Destroyer that you have to play as Captain America. There are some runes floating around Loki and the only way you can defeat the Destroyer is by destroying all the runes, and then attacking the big guy. Well the runes also regenerate. So you have to run around the level, avoid getting hit, take out the runes and then attack the Destroyer. And do it before any of the runes comes back. Its kind of a pain in the ass, but not a total game ender if I can figure out how to do it. I may just be missing something obvious.

I would have expected them to program the Captain with the ability to bounce his shield off multiple targets so you can take out more than one rune at a time. I haven't gotten to play it yet so this is pure guess-work on my part.

If there is a way to hit multiple targets, I haven't figured it out. Though it did take some searching to realize that Mr Fantastic could change shape, so there may just be something there that I am missing.

In Ultimate Alliance you can direct the shield remotely by holding down the button. Have you tried that?

But Marvel Ultimate Alliance isn't a lego game and made by a different developer... ????

In Lego games, the standard way to target multiple targets is hold the button down which brings up a targeting reticle which you pass over the first target, then the second and so on until all targets you want are selected. I need to get his game. One of my sons is all about Batman and now has taken to Superman and Green Lantern. Playing with my kids is a great excuse to get out of doing chores :D

I just brought it up as something that might give him ideas. I know, it's not like one developer would ever 'borrow' ideas from another.

It made much chuckle only because I was just reading your son's attempt at troubleshooting Elmira's problem with stuff not working on our reinstall.

"We updated all drivers"
"I bet you have to update your graphics drivers"

You make sense but not right after all I was reading.

Tried aiming, and yes, holding the throw button down brings up a crosshair, but it doesn't allow multiple targeting. There have been a couple areas where that worked, but it worked with buttons on screen. Holding it down to aim at this level means standing still while getting missiles shot at Cap Am. I'm trying to find a walk through, hoping that maybe there is something I'm missing, but its not working well. I was happy with the game up until this point.

It's very unlikely that a Lego game would have a puzzle this technically demanding. I suspect there is probably a trick to it that you're overlooking.

According to Youtube, it looks like you can select multiple runes, though my sound is off so I don't know if they explain it...

Lance has the right of it. Its always something we overlook that keeps us from progressing. That said, one mission in DC Heroes Lego game had things that liked to stay just off screen which made us restart the one level.

Yeah, that works. But its still friggin hard to do it all. I'm afraid its going to take a few tries before I am successful.
