Wel, as some of you already know, me mum has come to live with us so that we can help take care of her in her dotage. This means she has to tag her car in the state of Georgia now. Simple, yes? Simple, no! Before the car can be tagged here she has to get a Georgia drivers license. "No problem" she says to herself. "I'll jut Coke on down to the license bureau and do that. Except they're closed on Mondays. So today she calls them up jut to make sure she has everything she needs. Good move on her part. The good ol' LB counters with the need for current ID and a bill sent to our address in her name.

"Hmm, I have no such bill that is current" she sighs, "Is there anything else I can use?" "Yes, your son can go buy a pad of receipts and write on it that you live at his address and you can bring that in with you."
"But my son has Monday off and works every day you are open."
"Oh, he doesn't have to come with you, that's considered a signed affidavit and doesn't even need to be notarized. Oh, and don't forget your birth certificate and marriage license."
"Marriage license?" she says. "Why would I need that? We were married over 50 years ago, divorced 13 years ago, and he's been dead for 6!"
"It's required, you can't get a license without it."
"So, you will take a piece of paper signed from somebody you've never seen as proof of residence, but my SSN and Medicare cards are not sufficient in lieu of amarriage license I haven't seen in decades and can't get a copy of because the courthouse burned down back in the 70's, and you won't accept my church wedding certificate instead?"
"That is correct."
"When you are my age I hope you do not have to suffer the whim of fools such as I have had to today." *hangs up phone*

So she's going to "sell us the car cheap" to save having to travel up to Missouri to tag it there and will remain with us as a temporary guest for an indeterminate amount of time and keep her Missouri license.
