Well, yesterday was our 26th wedding anniversary. Can't say it was always peaches and cream on a bed of roses but over-all it's been worth everything we've gone through.

First we had lunch at Shogun's. If you have the opportunity to go there I recommend it. The grill cook was quite entertaining and the filet mignon was just rare enough to satisfy my lust for raw meat and was so tender it melted in my mouth (this is a rare treat since most cooks seem to feel that meat has to smell and taste like charcoal in order to be done). For lunch our total bill was under $25 including the alcoholic drink named Hiroshima. Speaking of which, is it pronounced Hear-oh-sheema or her-o-shim-ah? I've heard it pronounced so many different ways that I have no clue.

We then saw the new Mission Impossible movie. It was good even though I'm not a big fan of Tom Cruise.

That sounds like a kick ass restaurant.

The train people always pronounced it He-rosh-ma. Japanese tend to drop the i and u sounds from words, unless it follows specific consonants, or is in the first syllable of the word. Or they feel like leaving it in. And people complain about english!

Congratulations on the anniversary!

And that restaurant does sound awesome. Probably a little out of my way, though... :)

I heard a few bad things about Shogun when they first opened but that has been years ago. Sounds like they got everything in order. We're almost bereft of good Japanese restaurants here. The last time I went to a hibachi place, the chef couldn't even pull off the onion volcano. Was saddening so we'll have to go check out Shogun for some good cuisine.

Congratulations too! I'm sure the tough times were all child related. I was talking to Elm last night about if there was only a way to have kids.. but not have them at the same time.

It's possible, but they have different titles; they are called aunts and uncles.

I was surprised they didn't do the onion volcano this time but they did when we had dinner there a couple years ago. It may be a dinner only thing. It was fun watching Barbara jump whenever one of the cooks would throw the flammable liquid on the grill to create a mini-fireball.

So not the same :( But if it was!

Shogun sounds far superior to everything I've seen since I was a wee lad in California and Benihana was not overpriced.

So far, being an uncle is pretty freaking awesome. Morgan and I will have kids eventually, but for now I'm happy with the shareware version.

We've been pretty happy with Locutus so far, mostly because I get to do falsetto British voice overs for all his actions.

I'm fascinated how incredibly different each of my kids are. The boys appear to be polar opposites and I'll have to see if it continues. I always joked that my eldest was a monster... well I should have kept my mouth shut because the second is the most sly and brutish toddler. Tonight he was slowly palming my cell phone as he distracted me as I sat on the couch. I need to focus more instead of slowly getting my baby girl to love me more than her mom. That plan is working marvelous.

That's what she wants you to think. In reality she's slowly manipulating you into making her "Daddy's Little Girl" who can do no wrong and will terrorize her older brothers while they get the blame for everything.
