Sorry, I was reading about how the local politicians have decided they're going to fund an $84 million spring training facility for the Cubs, while we're also being told that there isn't any more money to give to the universities and they're going to have to face major funding cuts. After that, the rest of my day will be spent in the angry dome. Posted Image Edited by Kishi, Jan 29 2010, 02:51 PM.

I spent my morning navigating the byzantine turns of the Canadian Border Services automated telephone system, hunting for a person to talk to about exceeding our duty-free liquor allowance. It turns out we'll be looking at roughly a 105% levy on any alcohol we bring back, in excess of our personal limits. We must consider very, very carefully! I suspect that next year, I'll be making more regular trips down to Granville Island and ordering the draft sake that an enterprising japanese fellow has begun to produce. No tariffs on that! |

So what you're saying Kishi, is that your politicians are telling the uneducated masses is that they should just go play ball? |

They're telling us that they care more about a month worth of tourism revenue than they do about the future. Of course, this just supports my theory that the power base of this state is the elderly, and they're mostly going to be dead in ten years, so what do they care about anything past that? |
