As I mentioned elsewhere I had forgotten my laptop's power brick. So off we went this morning, looking to purchase one. 'Lo and behold, we found one for $150...
I then played upon my wifes desire to get the most value for her dollar and walked out of the store with a Gateway NV53 laptop. AMD Athlon X2 M300 processor, 4G ram, 320G HDD, DVD-R, internal webcam and mic and 15.6" 16:9 screen. Yeah, the screen's slightly small but tolerable and besides, most of my gaming will be done connected to my monitor or to my 42" flat screen since the laptop has HDMI output. And the video chipset is ATI instead of Intel so it should handle my games better. I'm currently downloading the 4G high res DDO installation but the connection is significantly slower here so it'll take half a day at least.
