I find this website stupidly entertaining: Let's Play. People play through video games, taking screen shots, and then add commentary. I seriously can't justify how much time I've wasted reading these today, but it makes me laugh. |

So...german midterm went well, did it? Edit: You know what? This has totally reminded me of my first business enterprise when I was a 7 year old Nintendo whiz. My uncle had a hell of a time beating some of the original Nintendo-hard games. So he would pay me in Coke and candy to go over to his house, and play through the games while he recorded them. I even had a microphone, so I could record voice tips or offer advice. Most games in those days could be beat in an afternoon. He and my dad would hang out and play ping pong while I finished the games. Then he could watch the videos, learn the patterns that I showed him, and boast to his friends how good he was at Nintendo. :) Edit edit: Oh my god. I just made myself feel totally old. I am several years older now than he was when I beat those games for him. Edited by Benevolance, Oct 23 2009, 04:25 PM.

Midterm went fairly well, I knew a lot of it and my professor sets up the tests so that if you're smart, you can recognize things in one part of the test and use them elsewhere. It's about 80% knowing German, 15% logic, and 5% scavenger hunt. I know I passed, I'm hoping that, with the extra credit section, I got an A. I'm pretty sure, from the way things go in class, that I'm grasping the language as well or better than the rest of my classmates, so I'm not super concerned on it. Plus, Fridays are the start of my weekend. I've got one class, and the rest of the day is waiting around for Morgan to get off work and then we go play D&D. This usually translates to I sit in the cafe at Barnes and Noble, taking advantage of their free wifi, and look at the random links people sent me over the week that I put off to do homework. |

That sounds fun. I actually took Saturday and Monday off, so I have a three day weekend. Unfortunately, I'll be spending almost all of that time writing my second midterm assignment. But still...it will be nice to not be here at work for a few days. |

It's especially nice after last weekend, which was actually more stressful than the week that proceeded it. This weekend, all I have to do is drive an hour across town to attend a storytelling festival tomorrow, and then sit around while Morgan and our friend Kay sew Halloween costumes. And debate if I'm going to upgrade to Windows 7 when I get the software in the mail. |

I'm also liking 1,001 Rules For My Unborn Son. Some good stuff in there. LGM might need this one tomorrow. (I'm kidding, of course. If you don't know how to deal with a hangover by the time you're past your early twenties, you deserve what you get.) Edited by Kishi, Oct 24 2009, 03:21 AM.

I never get hangovers worth mentioning. I also eat a good dinner and drink lots of water when I know I'll be partaking of the liquor. I wish many people would read this list Kishi found. Do jog with a shirt on, people! |

I swore as a teenager that I'd never subject my neighbors to me without a shirt if I ever got pale with a chubby tummy. I've been wearing shirts at all times in the yard for over a decade now :) |

I read the whole list. I hate when people post such things as I can't stop reading at the first page. |

I read through all of them, too. Some great rules there- this one sounds so much like my dad. |

I cannot get that one across to my son. The very moment I begin to drift off to sleep, he comes flying through the air to land on my head or stomach. "Let's wrestle, daddy!" |
