A buddy is in town this week before he ships back off to Afghanistan. We're heading to the pub across the street for dinner, then back to our place for a Lan party of indeterminate duration. Jenn and I are both taking a cheat day on our diet to indulge a little this evening. Tomorrow we're off to MEC in Vancouver to buy all of our Japan travel clothes for our trip in February. And with all this to look forward to, the day instead drags on endlessly as I sit here suffering through a coworker who is dumber than a retarded moose and communicates with people just about as effectively. I cannot even study properly, because she won't stop saying stupid things. Every time she speaks she tosses a rock into my mental cogs; my brain stops while it tries to sort out what just happened. The only thing keeping my spirits raised is that in two hours, I will be trading wisecracks with friends over a nice, ice-cold Guinness before embarking on a brutal campaign of slaughter and destruction. You should be honing your workplace prank skills! That would solve both boredom and your co-worker issue! |

You know, AOE can always be a part of a nutritious and balanced LAN party. |

The pub was delicious. I managed to even stick to my diet (except for the beer) so I didn't feel too guilty. The LAN setup was a breeze, and Conquerors was ridiculously fun last night. We played until shortly after 2 am. At that point 2/5 of the party decided it was time to leave and we humoured them. But our army buddy stuck around and we chatted for another hour or so. |
