All the recipes in the thread are compiled on a forum page. Link is in the upper right. I'll need to clean up the board links and drop down menus soon. This place is becoming a mess since the housekeeper quit. |

Excellent idea! I should ask you to revise the Greek Martini recipe. We now mix equal parts metaxa, apricot brandy and sweet and sour mix and it still tastes delicious.

We were over at Nighthawk's last night trying out his new dry-bar set up. It was awesome! And we remembered an old favorite drink! We knew it as an Earthquake, but it apparently goes by Mudslide, Whistling Gypsy, Screaming Orgasm, and Iron Butterfly. According to Drinksmixer.com, the variety below is the Backfire, because it's served in a cocktail glass. If you mix it over ice in an old-fashioned, it's the Iron Butterfly. If you add 1 oz cream to thin it down, it's a Mudslide. If you serve it in a shot glass, it's a Whistling Gypsy. Hope that confuses! Backfire 1 oz vodka 1 oz Bailey's 1 oz Kahlua Shake ingredients together and serve in cocktail glass. It's really good. *update recipes from this post* mod edit |

I made some infusions. The cinnamon, ginger and star anise infused vodka tasted like Christmas. |

I put two cinnamon sticks, about 1.5" DELICIOUS PIEce of fresh ginger sliced into DELICIOUS PIEces, and one whole star anise pod into an airtight container with between 500 and 750 ml of vodka. That's, uh, about 2 cups? Three cups? It wasn't quite 750 ml, because I was basically using up the vodka I had left out of two 1.14L bottles. Anyway, put everything together, seal it all tight, and then I let it sit for two or three days in a cool, dark place. Every morning I'd take a little sip and see if it was tasty. Eventually, it was! If I did it again, I'd add more ginger. Fresh stuff always needs more volume to mix flavours with the dry stuff. I'd use at least a 3" DELICIOUS PIEce of ginger next time. But I still think this will taste really good with some Godiva chocolate liqueur! Okay, your filters aren't able to handle me! That's twice I've broken it's intended purpose! I need to make a more exacting filter for that one. That is overly effective. Love the drink description. Sounds perfect for Halloween. |

Okay, a couple of new recipes. First, I had forgotten that I'd posted the directions for the Dwarfmas vodka. If you've made yourself a bottle of that, you can make yourself a glass of this: Magic Squid Ink Start with about 2 oz of Dwarfmass vodka in a cocktail glass. Add a capfull of Noilly Prat dry vermouth. Splash in a generous dollop (maybe .5 to 1 oz) of black sambuca. The effect is a slightly purple cloud of ink in the glass. The measurements aren't exact, since I was free-pour measuring into the martini glasses. Once I make some more of the Dwarfmass vodka, I'll try to get some more precise measures. The second drink! Courtesy of drinksmixer.com: Black Murder 1.0 oz dark rum 0.5 oz brandy 0.5 oz black sambuca 2 tsp grenadine. Shake together with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Voila! Liquified black jelly beans. |

I honestly can't remember a single incident of myself ever pouring any drink exactly. That pesky liquor seems to leap and bound into my glass every time. |

Mint Julip 4 fresh mint sprigs 2 1/2 oz bourbon whiskey 1 tsp powdered sugar 2 tsp water Muddle mint leaves, powdered sugar, and water in a collins glass. Fill the glass with shaved or crushed ice and add bourbon. Top with more ice and garnish with a mint sprig. Serve with a straw. I'm not what you'd call well versed regarding alcoholic terms but I know how to make sure the moonshine won't kill you. What's a collins glass? |

Old Fashioned glasses are short and fat, Highball glasses are long and fat, Collins glasses are long and slim. Shot glasses are short and thin. So, essentially, bartending is about penises.

There must be a shot or drink named bukkake. I'm not doing a search for it.
