<< Mariemaia walked through the lonely halls of the gallery, pacing slowly. Although her exchange with Relena was perplexing, and she felt heady from the champagne, she could only think of Lady Une. And her alleged father, Treize cradling some sweet young thing as if it was his pride and joy. For the first time in her life Mariemaia was needled by jealousy. – but she would not allow it to root and take hold of her. She had no father, only a heartsick mother, used and brutalized by a hedonistic man. –suddenly she was struck with the realization that Une’s bitter heart may cast her away. Mariemaia stifled a sob, hugging her body tightly. She wished he was dead, a rotting benign corpse that could do no harm, now he threatened to take everything away from her. His blood had already cursed her, stripping away all the mundane activities in her life a typical girl would cherish. Now risen from an empty grave, a grave Une had maneuvered her wheelchair over to inspire her to face her arduous physical therapy – it was all lies. She sorely wished Dekim had better aim. |

It had taken Rashid quite a while to make it back inside the palace and, after a lot of sneaking around and potted plant holographic know how, he managed to gain entry through a closed off side room and out into the gallery. In potted plant mode he slowly inched into the empty space and clicked the hologram off. It vanished in a flash of pixels, leaving him looming against a wall beside a painting of the President seated in a velvet chair flanked by two fat Welsh Corgis. He was having trouble locating Quatre, though he had spotted a couple of the others during his trek around and through the palace. He saw Trowa and Howard guzzling drinks in the dining room through a window, that Chinese man Wu Fei putting his two women in check with balled fists, and had even spotted Heero being emo in the rose garden. Quatre was nowhere to be found, to the oaf's dismay. He had tried his cell phone various times but to no avail. With great effort he had made entry through a picture window leading into a smoking room that had been locked away from the guests of the house for this occasion. (A lot of wishful Aladdin thinking got his bulk through the high window) Now he stood in an empty gallery, hopelessly confused as to where his boss could be. Worry creased his massive head as he turned to make his way into the ballroom when he spotted a little girl in a pretty "I'm sorry for intruding miss..." he said in a hesitant voice. He wasn't the soft, fluffy type. He didn't know what to say. Wait... his eyes fixed on her closely. This was MarieMaia right? She seemed much older than he recalled- but it had been years since he had last seen her face giving the world ultimatums on television broadcasts. "Are you all right?" He couldn't just pass by a sad little girl and not ask. It wouldn't be right (though part of him knew that of all the little girls in this world, this one was probably the last one he should be asking... but Rashid was secretly fluffy and lovable deep down.) Maybe working for Mister Fabulous for so long was making him a little more compassionate? |

"I'm sorry for intruding miss..." Mariemaia jumped at the sound of the deep voice; quickly she turned and gaped at the huge man. Quickly she forced an agreeable veneer, shedding her features contorted in anguish. "Are you all right?" “I’m fine.” Mariemaia spat, only in attempts to convince herself. Her brow contorted, and she mustered a girlish smile. Clasping her hands behind her back, and she leaned towards the bulky man, his height and size towering over her slight frame. So strong, yet the man had such a gentle face. Mariemaia laughed softly. “Thanks for your concern.” She muttered almost pouting, disliking such words to spill from her lips. She took several tentative towards the large man. Then in seemingly innocent curiosity, she asked, “Have you ever killed a man?” Thoughtfully, she placed a hand under her jaw and mused, “I’ve always wanted to know what it was like. But really she wanted to ask why he allowed Quatre to send the Gundams into the sun, only to rescue them at the very last second from fiery peril to spoil all of her grandiose plans —or Dekim’s. Whatever, grandpa was dead. Well -- if she knew who Rashid was. Bunch of jerks. |

“Thanks for your concern. Have you ever killed a man? I’ve always wanted to know what it was like." He blinked furiously as she approached and was somewhat taken aback by her sudden change in demeanor. He had seen the likes of this before with Quatre's sisters. They would be upset in hiding but then put on a coy face or happy smile to hide the fact that they were upset in the first place. The question of his killing a man amused him- for he was a figure of the past as well, and could not be convinced fully by the rather convincing innocent this girl was acting out. He stood at his full height and gave her a friendly, casual smile - he was always sincere- this amused him. "I have indeed, young lady," his low voice grumbled in his chest. Being a former mercenary and full time body guard for one of the He held out a calloused, overworked hand and smiled. "I am Rashid. I think I know who you are. I would not like to be at the advantage of our meeting." It was okay to shake the hand of a Woman in Western culture, wasn't it? Hm... "I honestly hope I have not interrupted your privacy, Miss. I was just looking for Ma-" He paused, suddenly feeling sheepish for referring to the considerably smaller blond as "Master". He bit back the word and resumed, "Mister Winner. I am his body guard." Satisfied that he had introduced himself, gave her a way to escape and answered her oddly personal question about killing others in one shot. He was socializing better lately. Those self-help tapes were starting to pay off. |

"I have indeed, young lady. I am Rashid. I think I know who you are. I would not like to be at the advantage of our meeting. I honestly hope I have not interrupted your privacy, Miss. I was just looking for Ma-Mister Winner. I am his body guard." “Such a gentle face Rashid, such a gentle face, for someone who has stolen the breath from someone’s lung.” Mariemaia mused, noting he was associated with the pilot of Sandrock. The young redhead, idly took a seat on a lush couch, red and velveteen. She was struck by this man, every single person who she had met from the war seemed incredibly harden, jaded, or lost. But not this man. This night was taking its toll on the difficult teenager, she forced a smile and nod, assuming he wanted to leave and seek out the man he was looking for. As she politely averted her eyes, she noticed a handheld device sitting on the couch next to her, vibrating. Curiously, she grabbed the phone and answered it. “Yes?” She uttered intrigued. |

Mama was taking a bath, and Anda had woken up. She picked up the phone nearby and dialed one of the few numbers she knew. It didn't really occur to her that her mother was in the room so that theoretically, her phone was in the room with her. However, Dorothy's phone was not in the room. The woman had left it downstairs, forgetting it with Anda's sudden appearance. “Yes?” "Who you?" she asked. "I'm Anda. My mama's taking a bath. She thinks I'm sleeping." No, Anda had not yet learned what a secret might be. Thus, no one in the family said anything of much importance around her. "You come see me? You can bwing Mama's friend." Anda gasped with delight. "PWINCESS LENA!" She bounced excitedly. "Now! Now! Please?!" |

"Who you?--I'm Anda. My mama's taking a bath. She thinks I'm sleeping." “Hi little girl.” Mariemaia spoke amused, grinning devilishly. She recognized the girl’s voice, how could she not—Trieze had adoringly held her, coddled her, while he had said not a damn word to her. "You come see me? You can bwing Mama's friend.--PWINCESS LENA! Now! Now! Please?!" She had to hold the phone away at the girl’s loud cajoling, the shrill screaming pierced her ear. When the young child on the other end of the receiver calmed down, Mariemaia spoke. “I think Princess Relena is indisposed right now—but I will see what I can do. Where are you?” the young redhead sweetly asked --if she was able to bring Relena, she may distract the brat’s mother, and give Mariemaia a chance alone with the young girl who stole her father’s attention so effortlessly. |

Anda had no idea who Martha Marjorie was, and even if she did, she probably wouldn't care about the girl anymore than Uncle Treize did. After all, Anda knew who was the top female dog in his life, and she would not let anyone else take that spot. Ever. “I think Princess Relena is indisposed right now—but I will see what I can do. Where are you?” "We're in Mama's room," Anda told the older girl cheerfully. "It's little! With just a living room an' one bedroom an' baffroom!" She hopped a little. "I can't hear music anymore. We're over the ballroom an' Mama said I can watch dem dance later." |

Rashid stood silent as the girl answered the cell phone left behind on the couch and heard the high, squeaky voice of a young female voice on the other line. Assuming he had been dismissed, he stepped backward and vanished through another set of doors to continue his aimless purposeful wandering. >> |

“I’ll see if I can find you.” Mariemaia uttered as she watched Rashid go. She ended the call, and aloofly rose to her feet, proceeding to the ballroom. >> |
