I have a couple of friends interested in trying to adapt fencing for Dagorhir combat. To that end, I want to ask you guys about what materials you would use to make a long one handed sword that is both light and thin as the rules allow, and stab-legal. The main thing i wanted to ask is whether the 3/4 inch tubes from Max-Gain systems will be rigid enough to use a single core to make a weapon with if cut to about three feet in length. I figured that if they are, I would use one of those as a core and build the sword with some good polyethylene foam we have locally available, and some charcoal open-cell computer foam for the stabbing tips. Any constructive thoughts? (meaning, no saying "Fencing doesn't work in Dagorhir". I already know that) |

fencing works in dagorhir. They are called spears ![]() I'd go with either the 5/8" or the 3/4". 5/8" might be perfect for a 3 foot core. |

Spears and fencing? Hmm...i guess I can see the similarity. At any rate, thanks! Now my friends can make their swords, try them out, and set them aside for two years of utter disuse!

you could always get them working with jav and board. that would give them an attack style similar to what they're used to. while giving the comfort and protection of good ole S/b
