Most definitely. I'm still down for meeting up. Having Nick and Marcus would have been nice, but I think we may have a couple new people attending as well. At any rate, good luck on the job interview, Nick, and greet my birth city for me!

Anyway, I'll have a sheet of plywood available and ready to use for loaner shield cores. Right now, the loaner shields are the most critical thing we need, aside from covers for the loaner weapons we have. I have one completed loaner blue sword that needs a cover, three uncompleted blue swords (need pommel caps and covers), two incomplete reds (also need caps and covers). In terms of resources, what we'll need are cloth for covers, foam, and contact cement. Any of this that you can provide would be most appreciated.

In terms of loaner gear, i think if we can just get what we've got finished and covered, and those shields made, we'll be able to start hosting weekly practices.

i don't really use dap i use double sided duct tape instead its cheaper and faster for loner weapons. i got two rolls of blue foam and about a quater yard of pvc i'm going to get more before the build day though. i have some cloth but in all honesty the only place i get cloth from is wal mart where do you guys get yours? also for swords i just cover them with a sock lol

evilninja, have you ever had any issues with the double sided duct tape? How well do the weapons stay together?

Might be cheaper and faster, but I strongly suspect the dap is sturdier, and it never hurts to exercise the skills you use to make the high quality weapons on the low quality ones. But yeah, i'm curious as to how well they work too. Anyway, we probably will end up doing something like covering the loaner weapons in socks, although i doubt that'll be possible for the reds. When I need cloth, i typically buy from Jo-Ann Fabric's remnants.

By the way, if you want higher quality foam quality foam than blue camp pad, I highly recommend the closed-cell at "A Foam and Fabric Place" on 4th Avenue.

I've made shields and swords with double sided duct tape never had problem with either with my punch shield i just made i messed up making it and around the handle the foam separates a bit but thats easily fixable i have just been to lazy to do so. as for the swords i've had the same swords for two years now and never gave me a problem (besides when i flated some one on the head and the striking part broke off but that was pretty funny so i was alright with it), but i also do believe its personal preference, in my opinion the only difference for weapons between dap and ddt is that dap you have to wait before you can put it on directly, for shields i can see dap being better to use i might have used it on the shield i just made but sense i live in dorms i'm not allowed to have that in my room cause of people trying to get high off it (not supposed to have the razers either but oh well).
